Got Blooze? Leslie sure does. This is by far the most complete Leslie West Offering to be released to date. I've got everything that this great guitar player has put out from his early days, Mountain days, and West Bruce & Lang days. Leslie has always had one foot in the blues with that signature sound of his. Over the last decade, Leslie has journeyed along a road that has seen him getting to this point of pure lay it down blues. 1999's As Phat as it gets had Leslie revisting "Stormy Monday". Mountain's Mystic Fire had "Better off with the Blues". Leslie's last offering "Blues to Die for" saw him going into the blues for his first full CD. This CD surpasses the previous one by miles. The bottom end of Aynsley Dunbar and Tim Bogart is fleshed out with the addition of guitarist Kevin Curry to allow Leslie to play that guitar of his the way only he can on some of the classic rock and roll blues numbers of all time! His take on "The Thrill is gone" is one of the best versions I've ever heard. Every song is a keeper from the opening chords of "Baby Please Don't Go" to "Heartbreak Hotel" (as only Leslie could Play it). Hey, I'm a fan, but not everything that Leslie has released has been this complete. If you like Rock and Roll Blues, Mountain, and great Guitar playing you owe it to yourself to pick this CD up. Bring the show up to WestCliffe Leslie. You could headline the jazz festival this summer under the Blood of the Sun-the Sangre de Cristos.

If you've read my Leslie West reviews, you know I love the man's music. Still, I'm reasonably sure that I'd be able to recognize a stinker if he put one out. This one isn't it. Differences between this album and the last couple? I'd guess I'd have to say the lack of guest stars and the fact that this is most overtly blues release of them all. I truly think the man is doing some of the best work of his life. Keep them coming, Leslie. I'm looking forward to it.

the latest LW cd is actually a solid old blues standard songs-done LESLIE STYLE!!. if you are a MOUNTAIN fan, a blues fan or just a fan of leslies--then this cd is for you. the songs are classic and showcase leslie's talent very well. if you think you know great slide guitar and never heard of leslie then you are in for a treat and a lesson. there are many today's guitar players who have taken in leslie's style(warren haynes) for one. this cd is just another solid and entertaining fest of blues. the inside booklet with leslie and his wife shay state: "I may not have the blues anymore, but I sure can play them" pretty much sums of this cd. go get it, you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!!

I did not think that Leslie could top, "Blues to Die For". Wrong.... I liked Leslie during his Mountain days. He was OK with Bruce and Laing. His Phat CD was a step up and his To Die For is excellent. There just ain't enough stars to rate this one. If you like Leslie's style of blues buy this CD. You will not be disappointed.

Leslie West takes old Blues standards and kicks them up with some seriously heavy electric guitar. I prefer his "Blues to Die For", but this is very good stuff as well. Traditional slow Blues like "The Sky is Crying" and "The Thrill is Gone" are highlights for me.

I have been waiting for Leslie West to do a recording like this. First of all I would say his best was Why Dontcha with Bruce and Laing which is one of my all time favorites in my entire music collection. Next would be Got Blooze. It's Leslie's return to the top of his game! By the way I feel his next best recording was Go for your Life-Mountain fame. This Got Blooze CD is the old-original Leslie West and I hope all his future recording's are like this......hard rock guitar with a blues feel added. Outstanding and Leslie how about a reunion with Bruce and Laing?

This is by far the best blues album that I have heard from West. A lot of old blues tunes redone and some great rock and roll included.

I have been a Leslie West/Mountain fan since 1970. Its great that he is still kicking ass after all these years. I was fortunate enough to see both CACTUS and BECK, BOGERT & APPICE when each band started. When I found out Leslie had teamed up with Tim Bogert I was thrilled. This album does not disappoint. Like good whiskey, these guys get better with age. If you are a fan, you will love this album. If you are new to Leslie West, this will leave you wanting to hear more.
