Product Description
iRewardChart
Reward accomplishments with a single tap
iRewardChart
Use rewards from database or customize your own

The reward system has always been an effective parenting technique, and now the iRewardChart can go everywhere you and your child go. The iRewardChart makes it easy to teach your child how to understand consequences, incentives, patience, and the value of setting goals and working to achieve them.

How iRewardChart Works

The iRewardChart app makes it easy to reward your children for good behavior and keep them motivated. Simply type their name, select a few tasks from the list of suggestions, and reward their accomplishments with a single tap in the weekly chart.

The app also allows you to set up abstract goals like "Patience" and "Sharing with Others" in order to reinforce the values you want your child to learn. When stars have been earned, your child can pick from the default list of suggested rewards, or you can customize the rewards (e.g., "$2 Pocket Money" or "One Hour of TV").

iRewardChart Recognition

While the iReward App has been busy implementing an effective reward system, it's gotten quite a bit of recognitions itself!

2.0 out of 5 stars It needs a lot of work... May 11, 2012
By Tom Z.

This app needs much more developement...

1. First off the interface is more difficult than it should be:

The menu key doesn't do much. In the menu that pops up there should be a Home, Settings, Edit, etc.
You have to keep pressing the upper left button just to return to the main screen.

2. Should have a password or Pin:

The kids can change anything they want when using your phone or tablet.

3. Should have a log-in system:

This would allow the parents to change settings.
The kids could check their progress and request a reward.

4. Cross-platform needed, plus syncing:

There needs to be a desktop version. This would allow the kids to use the home computer to check progress and interact with the software.
This would also allow Android and Iphones to share information between parents and kids.

The above will get this app started on being something useful.

Bottom line, Start by completely reworking the interface and make use of the menu key on the phone/tablet. Needs a lot of work!

1.0 out of 5 stars Lack of updates, No response from support May 11, 2012
Verified Purchase
Update: I lowered my review to 1 star due to lack of response from the support team. The IOS version of this app was updated with a password so that kids couldn't edit the stars themselves. I emailed the support team in June and was told it was coming to Android in a couple weeks. I emailed them a couple more times in the 3 months since and have gotten no response. Without this feature, the app is unreliable and kids can star their own things and may star the wrong things by mistake or on purpose. I will revise this review again if/when the app gets updated.

Original Review Below:
This app is neat. It's a great way to keep track of when your kids are doing their chores and acting appropriately as an alternative to a manual chore chart.

The only feature I need that's not included is a way to sync this app between multiple devices like I can with the various grocery apps. That way I can easily use this on my tablet when I'm at home so the kids can see it and use it along with me, but then I could also add things from my phone when we're out and about running errands and things.

Actually one other feature would be to require a PIN in order to modify things. That way the kids could look at it and see how they're doing, but wouldn't be able to go in and screw with the data unless they entered the proper PIN/password. Developers, if you read this, please add those to your to do list.

ALSO, even if you don't have kids, check out this review on Youtube for a guy who set it up to use it like his own ToDo list to reward himself for when he works out during the day or when he accomplishes things at work. Neat idea.

I guess I can't post a link to Youtube so just go there and search for 3JUMIwPMhBA

3.0 out of 5 stars Crashing! Developer, please fix! May 12, 2012
Verified Purchase
I like this app a lot, and think it is helping my daughter already, after only one day, but after it let me add new tasks once, it started crashing when I wanted to add more. I need to add them so I can get my daughter to remember to stretch for her Taekwondo. I considered uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but think that the problem may continue, and then I’d be stuck with all the default items and have none of my custom ones. Will the developer please fix the crashing problem?

1.0 out of 5 stars Force closes! May 27, 2012
Verified Purchase
Every time I get it set up with all the tasks, it force closes when I try to edit tasks. I can't add the same tasks for my other children now. I deleted it and reinstalled it and tried again, same problem! Now they've lost 3 days worth of stars they've earned and were excited about and now I can't even set it up again and they will lose incentive. I'm pissed off!

2.0 out of 5 stars Improvements - Good App, needs more. May 11, 2012
By Jase

1. Ditch the iPhone interface elements. Even though this seems like a port, there's no reason it should look iPhone-ish. Android has great UI elements and the use of iPhone UI seriously degrades the seriousness of your dev teams appearance.

2. Certain tasks would benefit from being able to set a time that such task should be completed. A great addition for kids learning to tell time.

3. A multi platform synch server with addition of web interface, so kids can view the same chart, whether on mommy's phone or daddy's, or the family computer.

All in all its a great app, here's why I only gave it two stars:

One star docked for interface design.
One star docked for poor use of androids extra buttons such as menu and back.
And the third star is being docked for untrviality in certain areas of adding tasks.

4.0 out of 5 stars would be great if... January 7, 2013

I love this app. It makes it very easy to track the progress of my child in the areas she needs to work on. However, I paid $4 for an app that shuts down every time I try to assign a picture by her name. I know it's a small detail but for a paid app, I expect it to work properly.

5.0 out of 5 stars No password May 11, 2012
Verified Purchase
This app isn't password protected. If you share your device with your children they can take as many stars they please. They should be able to view the chart without password and need one for changes.

Also it would be helpful if you can copy rewards from one child from one to a other.
