This EP had been rumored to come out for so long that I finally gave up on ever hearing it. It isn't even clear, at this point, if Jealous Sound is still together or if this is a posthumus release. Regardless, when I saw that this EP had actually been released, I was excited about hearing it and was even more excited about the potential of the Jealous Sound putting out more music.

After listening to this EP, I now understand why it was so severely delayed. There's not a lot of meat here. The original material lacks the musical punch and lyrical poignancy of earlier Jealous Sound releases. The usual mix of catchy, fuzzy guitar lines and memorable hooks is nowhere to be found. Instead, this is a collection of airy, lighthearted pop songs reminiscent of the work of some of the Jealous Sound's former colleagues, The Little Ones. The included remix tracks are forgettable. In fact, Jimmy Tamborello's track is bad enough to make me hope that a second Postal Service album never sees the light of day.

I'm a big fan of this band and am disappointed by this release. I've spent a long time pulling for this band to come out of hibernation and for them to get the attention that their previous works deserve. However, if they're looking for future success, their output must return to its old caliber (if they're even still together).

I love the Jealous Sound, and it was a wonderful surprise to finally see them outputting new material. It has been a long wait, but my ears couldn't be happier. I just adore all these new tracks to pieces.

I've been waiting for what seems like forever for a new Jealous Sound CD. I would much rather have a full LP, since their first was so incredible, but I'll take what I can get. All the tracks are definitely worth owning.
