Outstanding music, a "must have" for anyone enjoying fusion in intense and complex compositions that are very pleasant to listen to with a groove to match. I must admit, I got up and started dancing with my wife while listening to several tracks on this CD. It also sounds great when you're driving down the highway. "Chic", the title cut "Got It Goin' On", "Stars in Your Eyes", and "Good Times Ahead" are really great funky and jammin' songs featuring Chieli's guitar mastery. "Love Is Always Young" is a beautiful melodic song written by his father, Ulpio Minucci, and lyricist Mark Roberts. "The Juice" track is sweet to hear the way Marion Meadows and Chieli play together on it, along with Jerry Brooks. Jerry and Gerald Veasley have a intense "battle of the basses" on the track "Deeper Than Deep"--truly awesome! This CD is loaded, as is typical of Chieli's productions, featuring an array of talented musicians like David Mann, Kim Waters, Jay Rowe, Steve Oliver, Philip Hamilton, Jeff Kashiwa, and Lionel Cordew. "Denial" is a fun song to tap your feet to and "Destiny" is a unique one to listen to. Finishing out with "Still Waiting", a nice arrangement of one of the tracks from "Special Delivery", Special EFX's first record, this one highlights Philip Hamilton's vocals and sounds great on this CD, as well as when you hear it played live. Believe me, this one is staying in my CD player for awhile!

What a gem. Minucci is one skilled guitarist. This disc really packs a punch.My favorite tracks are: "Good Times Ahead"," Chic",
"The Juice" and "Denial". What stands out for me is the great arranging and musicianship on this CD. Chieli Minucci just gets
better and better. His fingers "fly" across the fretboard when
playing lead. The disc is great driving music. To date, I find this to be Minucci's best CD. For the lover of smooth jazz guitar, this CD is a must.

I listen to this CD repeatedly and have nearly worn it out after only three weeks. Chieli's style of play is poetically sparse, drawing the listener in with carefully chosen motifs while keeping the beat going. I love the wide range of emotions, moods, and riffs in this finger-popping CD. This is not one of those monotonous smooth jazz CD's where the music automatically repeats.
Each song in this CD is complex and all the songs together make for a large cinematic story that ranges from exuberant to soul-searching, but is always beautiful and sensuous.

Chieli is back with his unique style. There are several classic
Chieli tracks mixed with some Special FX styles. This is a nice
mix of both. Chieli also does a great job of mixing it up with
other smooth jazz artists. Another work of art! Good luck finding this retail! I think I got the only copy in AZ. Just save yourself the trouble and order it here @ Amazon.

The first time I played this CD, I really liked it. Until it reached the end, and there's an awkward pause. That isn't the artist's fault, I know. Over time, though, I've discovered I'll take this out of the track selections, and am not reaching for it as often.

Now the beauty of life and people is variety in tatstes. I'm sure there are those who'll love it, so I recommend you listen (if you can) to the sample tracks. He really is amazing on the guitar. Just... lacks something for me. Soulfullness? A sexy edge? Not sure.

Anyone who enjoys an adventure in smooth Jazz will enjoy this CD. Its o the top of my list for innovation!
