Excellent and eclectic mix of Beatles tunes as done by some of GRP's greatest names., September 18, 2007
This review is from: I Got No Kick Against Modern Jazz: A Grp Artist's Celebration of the Songs of the Beatles (Audio CD)
Russ Freeman, Spyro Gyra, Chick Corea, Diana Krall, and George Benson... How can you go wrong? Diana Krall's sublime version of "And I Love Her" is , for me, the high point of the album, but just barely with George Benson's "The Long and Winding Road" falling right behind. In fact, there isn't a bad song on the album, just some that are less "good" than the rest.
If you are a smooth jazz fan, you will adore this album. If not, but you still like some form of jazz, you will find something on here for you listen to over and over again..

Interesante interpretaciones de The Beatles, September 18, 2010
This review is from: I Got No Kick Against Modern Jazz: A Grp Artist's Celebration of the Songs of the Beatles (Audio CD)

Smooth bugs, September 24, 2007
This review is from: I Got No Kick Against Modern Jazz: A Grp Artist's Celebration of the Songs of the Beatles (Audio CD)
Well, the Beatles are not the best material for jazz artists, not even smooth jazzers... However, some of the perfomances are quite subtle - McCoy Tyner really shines, for instance, Arturo Sandoval's band is really cooking, and I have never heard Diana Krall sounding better (BTW; I'm not her greatest fan)...
Well, if you like GRP-style music, this is the album for you, if not, wou can live without it.
