5.0 out of 5 stars Release Date?, December 15, 2005

This review is from: Got Music (Audio CD)
From marley family webpage melodymakers.de - Stephen has been in London re-mixing/re-recording the album with Chris Blackwell who worked on all of Bob's albums (except Survival)....latest release date is supposedly May 23 2006....long time to wait...but no doubt Steve and Chris will make it well worth the wait! :-)

UPDATE....OK Here's what I recently read on christopherporter.com (written in April of 2006):

"While he's produced records for his brothers Julian, Ky-Mani and Damian, the 34-year-old Stephen -- who can sound a lot like his Pops -- has never released a solo album. His debut, "Got Music?" was supposed to come out last year, but it was put on hold -- no, not because of the terrible title but so he and Damian could finish the smash "Welcome to Jamrock" CD. Now scheduled for a September 2006 release (**note - I've also heard November & December of 2006?), Marley decided to change the record's name to "Mind Control" because, "Where I am today is different from where I was last year in terms of my vibe, my mood," Marley said. "Last year I was in a 'Got Music?' vibe -- just music. This year I'm in a more militant vibe." Marley's adding a few new songs and remixing others to make the roots-reggae album "more raw."

5.0 out of 5 stars Great...but will be better, December 9, 2005
This review is from: Got Music (Audio CD)
I've heard all but four of the songs on this album. It deserves 5 stars for what it already is. But currently, Steve is working with Christ Blackwell (who worked with Bob) on mixing the CD and making it even better. So be prepared, when this album drops, its going to be amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Winding Road" needs to be included, January 12, 2007
This review is from: Got Music (Audio CD)
I heard "Winding Road" on Sirius and it is now my favorite song. I have heard it twice, and it is so beautiful.

Yet, looking over the supposed track listing on other websites, they have dropped it from the album.

This is my favorite song. PLEASE include it Stephen!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delayed, December 16, 2005
This review is from: Got Music (Audio CD)
I read in Beat magazine that this album was delayed so that it wouldnt interfere with the release of 'Jamrock' by Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley (which is an excellent album). It also states that Stephen Marley produced and co-wrote pretty much the entire album, and that 'Jamrock' should be credited to both Stephen and Damian.

I've seen this release date a few places plus it's his dad's b-day so I would count on it! I've heard 4 tracks already and this is going to be one amazing album! Stephen sounds most like his dad, but has a style all his own... this is a long time coming!

(Album title changed to Mind Control)
