This book leans more toward digital art than I would prefer, but that's probably my bias as a painter creeping in. The work in this book is beautiful and engaging, and the book itself is of good quality. If you are into gothic/dark fantasy illustration, this book is a good investment.

GOTHIC ART NOW offers a fine collection of the latest cutting-edge Gothic art from around the world, and comes packed with rare, previously unpublished art from both new talents and legendary artists alike. This art work is paired with details from its creators on how they produced their masterpieces, and also holds website details for further follow-up. An outstanding recommendation not just for art libraries, but for general-interest lending collections.

Gothic Art Now is a beautiful collection of some of today's best artists. Very high quality printing, it features full colour reproductions of hundreds of pieces covering a wide spectrum of the Gothic genre. A very wide variety of media are represented: traditional oil and acrylic paintings, stained glass, digital creations, scratchboard, sculpture, pencil, photography and more. There are contributions from well established artists such as H.R. Giger and Brom alongside amazing emerging artists such as Tina Imel and David Gough. There are some mature subjects (partial nudity, some violent or disturbing images) but it is overall a very approachable book - perfect for anybody interested in the gothic art scene or for for art lovers in general.

I actually bought this book at a second hand book store in my city. I saw it there before a few times, but it was still packaged in the plastic, so I didn't want to spend money on it. Last time I was there I purchased it and was pleasantly surprised. Quite frankly, I found the front cover very misleading. Honestly, the cover was the thing keeping me from purchasing it before. The summary on the back also does not do it justice. I was afraid to open it and find tons of manga/anime styled art, but didn't. Yes, it does have quite a lot of digital art, but all of it is stunning.
Overall it is an amazing and visually pleasing book. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys modern Gothic art.

I really liked this book. Showed several different artists and how they combine many different mediums to create their art. Is a very enlightening book.

Definitely a well made book, great print quality. I was disappointed by the contents though. There is very very little said about each piece and the "comic" section is not a comic section. It's just another illustration section. Also, this is a matter of personal taste, but I really only cared for a third or so of the art in the book. The other 2/3rds weren't terribly breathtaking.

Over all, I enjoyed looking at it, but I'm glad it was my library who bought it.
