Product Description

Lil Flip ~ U Gotta Feel Me

Amazon.com

In terms of his status as an Undaground Legend, it's "Game Over" for Lil' Flip. Longtime fans of the Texas freestyle king won't find much to love about his third major-label solo release, which seems geared towards the ever-expanding "commercial rap" market. Presented as a two-CD affair but in actuality only minutes longer than a single disc, Feel Me suffers from the usual flaws: played out subject matter (Flip and friends cock glocks and sling rocks ad nauseum), generically "hot" beats (c'mon, more slowed vocal samples from the Heatmakerz?), and guest appearances that smack of arranged marriages. That said, there's just enough talent shown here to make up for the filler: listeners will definitely be feeling the two tracks featuring David Banner while Red Spyda's production provides "Check (Let's Ride)" with an unexpectedly funky roots-reggae-meets-Southern-bounce sound. --Rebecca Levine

Dont waste your money on this cd cuz Lil Flip has fell off.
"liljaybird"
Out of 19 songs (why is it a double disc, there are 12 decent songs that could have made a single disc CD.

Only 2 good songs, Game Over and Sunshine and they are the singles.

Ok where can i start i hate to compare albums .But this album is no where near as good as undergroung legend. I like flips style alot just sounds like he is trying to go more pop on this album..more mainstream. Its a few bangers on the album just isnt what i thought it would be. Check it out ,but if ya aint heard underground legend thats the album ya need to get before you can even listen to this album. To many apperances not enough TEXAS STYLE ON HURR.......

I must say I think this is the worst review I have EVER written for any cd I have reveiwed. This has to be the laziest double disc effort EVER put on wax. For starters, in all actuality, this is a single disc cd, just take of the chopped & screwed songs and the disc clocks in a a little under 80 minutes. Another flaw is the production (with the exception of David Banner's production on the album) sounds just like a nintendo 8 bit system did the layout for certain songs while other songs sounded half assed. Behind Nelly, Flip has the worst flow than anyone in the rap game. I wish I can tell you what songs to listen to on the album but unfortunately there were no standout songs. But I can offer these wise words of advice, if you are still considering getting this album, please pick up a used copy.

Lil Flip sucks. He may consider himself the 'undaground legend' but i consider him an embarrasment to hip hop. First of all I dont have to 'feel' anything and im sure as hell not feeling this album. Lil flip has no flow at all, he rhymes words together little kids could rhyme. On the song "Sunshine"(only good thing about the song is the fine girl who sings on it)one of his so called rhymes is "just answer your phone whenever i call, cuz im sittin on chrome whenever i ball"... whatever happened to the sophisticated well thought out lyrics. A three year old could rhyme call with ball and phone with chrome. And in his song "Check(Lets Ride)" a line in the song says "Im to street to go pop-but i pop heat in the street"... haha thats the biggest load of bs ive ever heard. This fool has been pop since he released his first album, what a stupid thug wannabe. And whatever happened to lil troy, one of the only good artists to ever come out of houston. Lil Flip sucks, dont buy this garbage unless you feel like wasting your money.

I am from Dallas and have been a fan of and following lil flips career since he was 17. Most of the people that gave this cd high rates obviously don't understand what Lil Flip is about and how good his previous cd's were. This CD is so commercialized it's an embarrasment to the underground rappers of Texas. You can tell this is exactly what sony wants from slip to please a wide variety of audiences that are more used to a ludacris, chingy, murphy lee, type rap, Where all the beats are pleasing to the ear, and all the raps are about ice, cars, hoes, and being a balla. There are a few exceptions with songs like game over, whats my name, the sun don't shine, we ain't playin, and bounce, but other than that there is nothin that special, and there are definately no gems on the cd. This cd will never compare the Undergroun Legend or even flips first cd The Leprechaun which was pretty impressive. I wouldnt recommend buying this, and u can probably find most the songs i listed on kazaa or have a friend burn them for you. Spend your money on something else or if you want a lil flip cd go with Underground Legend, which is what flip will stay if he doesn't come out with anymore garbage like this just to get rich.

My brother listed in one of his guides last year that Lil' Flip was the most overrated rapper of 2004. I wholeheartedly agree with that (even though I chose Nelly for that honor). I never really was much of a Lil' Flip fan, but I decided to check out this album anyway. A lot of the reviews are just talking about whether Flip is better or worse than T.I., but I think I'm going to talk about what I'm sure you readers want to REALLY hear about: how the actual album is.

Editorial reviewer Rebecca Levine did a pretty good job assessing the album, and I also agree with everyone that said that "Game Over (Flip)" is the only good song on the album. And that's really sad, considering that it's a two-disc set (although it only adds up to a little over ninety minutes). Flip doesn't really say anything else on here to make things stand out. On Disc 1 (the longer disc), there are several mediocre interpretations of been-there-done-that tales, like "Represent" and the Cam'ron-assisted "All I Know". And "Ain't No Party" sounds like it was made in 1992. If you don't know where I'm going with this, check the chorus: "Ain't no party like a Lil' Flip party/`Cause a Lil' Flip party don't stop." And then he goes into: "Put your hands up/Put your hands down." What?

Although Ludacris gives a decent performance on "I Came to Bring the Pain", it can't save the rest of the song, especially since it features a lazy sample of Method Man's "Bring the Pain". There's also a little repetitiveness with the titles ("Sun Don't Shine", "Sunshine"). The former is a generic keep-your-head-up song, while the latter is, as XXL Magazine said best, one of the most overrated songs that came out last year. "I'll treat you like milk/I'll do nothing but spoil you"? Negro, please.
