I'll be honest. I didn't wanna buy this CD at first. I was afraid that everything would sound like Gotta Get Thru This. Don't get me wrong it's a great song, but I didn't want to spend [the money] to hear the same sound over again. If that's your fear, cast it aside and buy this CD. It's great and you'll be missing out on some great music if you pass this CD buy rather than picking it up. It's fresh & innovative and will have you dancing and feeling the pains of life as each track passes. This is what I call a good "life CD". It's filled with all kinds of emotions, so whatever kind of day you're having, there's a song for it on this disk. Your CD player will love this. Let me tell you of each track.
1)Blown It Again - This could be considered filler, but it's pretty good filler. It's a track I don't mind listening to and bobbing my head with... if only the rap wasn't in here. (3.5/5)
2)James Dean (I Wanna Know) - Hot song. Kinda hip-hop and kinda pop mixed together. Great dancing song. This is definately one to play at parties and clubs. Great beat and nifty lyrics help make this song a standout on this CD. (4.5/5)
3)Gotta Get Thru This (D 'n' D Radio Mix) - Wow... what can I say. We've all heard this song and if you haven't, you must be living under a rock. This song never gets old and is an ultimate dance your [rear] off song. It's great, simple, and pure perfection. (5/5)
4)If You're Not The One - This one of the best ballads I have ever heard in my life. It is truly amazing and full of raw emotions and feelings. This song proves Daniel Bedingfield has real talent... more than most male artists out there now. His voice in this song is perfect and he hits every note with outstanding grace. This will have you crying... seriously.

Daniel Bedingfield got a bad introduction to the US market. While "Gotta Get Through This" was a huge radio and club hit, it is absolutely not representative of DB's talents or abilities.
Where he really shines the most is on the rest of the album. "If You're Not the One" was also a big hit in the US, and rightfully so - the lyrics and arrangement on this song are incredible. "James Dean" shows his funky side, while "Girlfriend" is a pop confection. "Honest Questions" has stunning lyrics and is beautifully sung.
The acoustic version of "Gotta Get Through This" wraps up the American version of this album, and is an entirely different (and extremely enjoyable) presentation of the dance hit. For those of you who are still wanting more, check out the British version of this CD - it features three more acoustic versions of DB songs as well as another beautiful ballad, "Never Gonna Leave Your Side."
It's rare these days to find an artist who isn't buried in millions of dollars in advertising and hype, let alone one who produces a CD containing songs you can like and listen to repeatedly. I am so glad I took a chance and bought this CD - it's become one of my favorite and I listen to it all the time. Can't recommend this one enough.

Overall this is a good album. From the two singles he's released in the UK gotta get thru this and james dean I expected a much more upbeat album throughtout but overall daniel gives the listner more slow than fast. All the songs basically deal with the girl that's the one or the one he let slip away or the one he wants and can't have. So let's go track by track.
1. I've Blown It Again - Upbeat song with a cute little rap at the end. Very catchy.
2. James Dean - One of my fav songs by Daniel. Cool sound effects and great chorus. Bound to make you happy.
3. Gotta Get Thru This - This is the radio edit. If you haven't heard this song, you're living under a rock. Undeniably very catchy you always want to hear the song again, maybe casue its not quite 3 minutes long you always seem to want a little more.
4. If your not the one - Here the album goes slow. A great song has potential for a great ballad the chorus is great.
5. He Don't Love You Like I Love You - Very cute acoustic guitar driven song that daniel very well could have wrote for the backstreet boys.
6. I Can't Read You - Midtempo song, chessy lyrics but he sings them quite well love the drum empahsis, also very guitar driven.
7. Friday - At first listen this song sounds like it's on speed the beat is so fast, but its a good song makes you want to dance but you can't quite figure out how to do it with the beat.
8. Honest Questions - I love this song, great lyrics, great singing probably one of the best songs on the album starts off kinda slow but gets progressively better
9. Girlfriend - Reminds of this rock song, but I can't place it. I like the song though similar to I can't Read you.
10.

You just gotta love the success of Mr. Bedingfield! 'Gotta get thru this' - the song - was a lil' ditty that was placed on a dance compilation and it grew from people's requests. He is not the result of some corporation or concept. He is simply himself, the UK's people saw this and THEY made this song and artist huge!!! Sure, the amazon.com review that describes Daniel's music as "one part Prince, one part Michael Jackson, and one part UK Garage" is dead on. A lot of people are "wowed" by the ballads, his depth, etc. I see it: but I almost never buy an album based on that alone. Personally, I need a groove to, well, groove to! It's the faster songs that do it for me:
1. Blown It Again
2. James Dean (I Wanna Know)
3. Gotta Get Thru This (D 'n' D Radio Mix)
6. I Can't Read You
7. Friday
The power and confidence in the guy's voice blow me away. He is young and figuring life out and no matter your age, you can always relate. There is not a lot of innovation here. No new frontiers to discover. Nope, all you have is a collection of well-written, expertly executed songs. You would never have guessed that most of this was done whilst sitting around in underwear. Hey, maybe it would put a smile on you face to imagine it....
