Excellent 2nd album!,
By Paul (Norfolk,England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: We Gotta Get Out of This Place (Audio CD)
Following 'Teenage Warning' was always going to be tricky & whilst I don't think this album matches that, its still excellent. Finally being made available on CD a couple of years ago, along with 'Teenage Warning'there are several fine tracks here, for me 'Never 'ad Nothin','Police Oppression','Lonely man of Spandau','Shotgun Solution','King Coal','Listen to the steps' & Can't Kill a legend' are the best, the rest aren't bad either! If you enjoy raucous,hard-hitting,punk/oi with some great guitars then this is a must have album!

Best Upstart Album,
By A Customer
This review is from: We Gotta Get Out of This Place (Audio CD)
The Upstarts have been around for a whyle now, i think 1979-1987. Roumor has it that they have reunited due to money needs. This is the Upstarts 3rd studio album, and its a good album, not as dynamic as reason why, but more catchy than Teenage Warning (dont worry you probably wont be able to find a copy of it anyway) but an all around good album. Favorite tracks: Never ad Nothin, Police Oppression, Shotgun Solution Ronnie is a Rocker, and Out of Control. Buy this album if you are interested in political punk from the early 80s era. Not a bad album, but in my opinion, spend your money on bands like Gang of Four, The Fall, husker Du, etc. Theres a reason why they havent lasted the test of time, but then again neither did Wire...
