Johnnie Taylor always gave it His all.the man was SoulFul&right on time with his work.this album showcases the Greatness&cool that is Johnnie Taylor."SOul Heaven", is a classic.The Man could sing circles around the Chumps out trying to do it now.He had the Soul&Flavor to give you the Real Deal.

I have been a fan of JT's since my Mother & Father began having me listen to his music over 30yrs ago...that makes me currently 45 years old and knowledgable about what I like in music, my taste vary but JT's style is/was the same style that made LEGENDS of stars like:Butler/Mayfield/Sledge/Burke/Covay/ Sam&Dave/Pickett/Chandler/Greene/Cooke and the list goes on and on. I've been able to listen to the sheer musical poetry of "SOUL HEAVEN", it is not only a great showcase for his voice and singing style but also a loyal & loving HOMAGE to those talents no longer here to be enjoyed in person, it is more than just a fitting tribute to JT as well, like he saved the best for LAST, listen to the song and you'll know he's in good company...in "SOUL HEAVEN." The enitre cd is outstanding. The song that I really like is Soul Heaven, I believe Johnnie knew something that we did not know. I was raise up with Johnnie Taylor and I went to just about all of his concerts in Texas. I will miss hearing and seeing him perform. He is in a place where he can perform every day. (SOUL HEAVEN).

The CD "Good Love" was JT's nationwide 90's comeback, although we here in KT had followed our favorite R&B son throughout his career with Malaco Records. In other words, we're excited by anything new he tends to crank out every year or so--this album is no exception. It has the street ready tune (by "street ready" I mean that you can already hear the folks at your favorite stomping ground using the title or lyrics of the tune as hip sayings or something like that to get the point across, also the usage of it while the tune is hot renders the speaker's true street/blues credibility--believe me, the world is truly like that) "Big Head Hundreds" and the funky blues number "Juke Joint" which promises to be a party starter on the level of "Good Love", the single. In "Gotta Get My Groove Back" JT laments that in current R&B, the music is there, but the feeling in gone:there's one too many one shot artists who's primary interest is the notoriety, fast life, fast fame of a hit single, and the feeling, the soul is faked. We could name many an artist that has happened to but amazingly, it hasn't happened to JT. He just keeps on making good music. This is his lastest and greatest.

I have enjoyed listening to Johnnie Taylor's music over the years. This cd is excellent. My favorite song is Soul Heaven. I cannot stop listening to it.

I enjoyed this CD. The only reason that it is not my favorite is because it does not contain many of my old favorites.

It does contain "Soul Heaven" and that is a hit!
