5.0 out of 5 stars God Bless you!!
This is a fabulous daily devotions book. It says it is for boys but is 100% appropriate for girls as well. It states for ages 2-5. I disagree with the age range on this title. I have been using it with my son who is 4 1/2 and it is perfect for him. I cannot imagine him at 2 or 3 understanding/comprehending the contents of the devotions. With all of this said, I...

2.0 out of 5 stars Wanted to like it, but didn't
I had purchased the Gotta Have God! for 6-9 year olds for my older boy and loved it, so I was very excited to get this for my 4 year old. I like the format for this series. I think it works great. Everything (Bible verse, devotional, questions, activity) is of an appropriate length and complexity. But the thing that I liked very much about the 6-9 year old book is that it...

With all of this said, I highly recomend this book for anyone with a 4 or 5 year old. The devotions touch on a different topic each day such as caring, greed, happiness, nature, friendship, etc. It takes me about 10-15 minutes each evening to go through the devotion with my son. This includes a bible verse, short story, and 3 questions they can answer, as well as a prayer and a very short activity. It contains 108 individual lessons. My son absolutely loves this book and our time together. I find him talking about previous devotions often. Any further questions, please feel free to contact me at fourisfabulous@msn.com and note "devotoions book" in the subject on the email. This is a must have for every christian family with a 4 or 5 year old!! Well worth every penny. God bless!

We love this book! My ~5 yo son makes sure we read it every night. I'd recommend it for ages 3-5 or 4-5 for comprehension.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Devotions For Boys Age 2-5 Gotta Have God, December 16, 2005
This review is from: Gotta Have God: Fun Devotions for Boys: Ages 2-5 (Spiral-bound)
I think this book is great. My 3 year old wants to hear the story and do the activities every day. He even likes to repeat the ones we have already done. I plan to get one for my little girl.

I had purchased the Gotta Have God! for 6-9 year olds for my older boy and loved it, so I was very excited to get this for my 4 year old. I like the format for this series. I think it works great. Everything (Bible verse, devotional, questions, activity) is of an appropriate length and complexity. But the thing that I liked very much about the 6-9 year old book is that it seems to be very God-centered. What I mean by that is that the devotionals (for the most part) all work towards teaching your child something about God. Which is wonderful, since the Bible is a book about God.
The 2-5 year old book, on the other hand, is not nearly as good. Most of the lessons seem to deal more with moralism than learning about God. And much of the time, the Bible verse at the beginning has very little to do with the devotional. It's as if the author had a topic in mind, say 'being stubborn', and needed a Bible verse so they just did a word search on 'stubborn' and plopped in the first hit they came up with. I don't like the fact that many of the devotionals could probably be put into a non-Christian publication and fit right in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great devotional for my squirmy 4 year old!, November 14, 2005
This review is from: Gotta Have God: Fun Devotions for Boys: Ages 2-5 (Spiral-bound)
My son and I received this as a gift from his grandmother for his 4th birthday. He just loves it. Every night I give him the choice of picking what books we read before bed. He ALWAYS picks this one and ALWAYS wants to read it first. He tries to answer the questions and seems to enjoy the stories. His favorite part, though, is the activity at the end of the story. I'm so excited about his enthusiasm for this book that I'm looking for a similar one for his younger sister. I would agree with the prevous age suggestions, though. My son just turned 4 and really enjoys this. I can't imagine a 2 year old really understanding and enjoying it as much. Great book!

I have two boys. One who is almost four, the other is two and a half. They both enjoy this book, though it seems more suitable for my oldest. Each "lesson" is two pages. One page has a story and questions to discuss. The other page is a quick activity that relates...and can be photo copied for each kid. It's a good way to get your kids thinking about who God is and why that matters to them. Also the questions for discussion could probably meet one or two curriculum standards for homeschooling if that interests you.

Easy transaction. I was going to give this as a gift for a 3 year old. However, when I recieved the book there were pages that were colored and drawn on. It was inexpensive. You get what you pay for.

We purchased this devotional for our 4 year old grandson. Last night, he begged us to read "just one more story". It is amazing how much a 4 year old enjoys the book.

Great book -- just the right size and length each day for our daily devotion. The book uses real-world scenarios that my 4 year old can relate to. Highly recommend!
