5.0 out of 5 stars A Doll to Delight the Heart
Maxy Muffin dolls are the "grande dames" of the Gotz Muffin family -- at 16.5 inches, they are larger than the Muffin and Mini-Muffin dolls -- sweet baby dolls with hours of play potential. (I have 5 -- two brunettes, two blondes, and one redhead). The dolls are manufactured with high-quality materials, nearly indestructible, but that's not why you buy this doll. The...

2.0 out of 5 stars A stiff doll - not ideal for playing
I purchased this doll for my three year old daughter, and am not pleased with her. She certainly is pretty and has nice hair, but all she can do is lay there. She is so stiff (the stuffing in her body?) that you can't seat her. My daughter wants to sit her in her doll highchair or in her doll stroller, and its not possible. The doll can only lay/stand there rigidly...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Doll to Delight the Heart, November 27, 2006
This review is from: Gotz 16.5" Maxy Muffin Doll with Brown Hair (Toy)
Maxy Muffin dolls are the "grande dames" of the Gotz Muffin family -- at 16.5 inches, they are larger than the Muffin and Mini-Muffin dolls -- sweet baby dolls with hours of play potential. (I have 5 -- two brunettes, two blondes, and one redhead). The dolls are manufactured with high-quality materials, nearly indestructible, but that's not why you buy this doll. The faces with the innocence only a toddler can muster -- "Who spilled the milk? Not me. Can I have a cookie?" -- remind you of the mischievous imps who've just climbed out of their cribs...and refuse to go back in.
The Gotz Muffin dolls have vinyl skin, but the feel of the skin is like bisque, fine porcelain, which gives the doll's face, arms and legs the texture of a fine collectible doll. The blushing on the apples of the cheeks is exquisite, and delicate eyelashes give a realistic aspect. You will be tempted to put this doll on display in your parlor.
But these are dolls that are meant to be played with, and are easy to maintain -- with their busy schedules, the dolls may get mussed, and the manufacturer gives instructions on how to wash them in washing machines, although I have not tried this method. The body is soft cloth, and they respond well to mild soap and water. The rooted hair is easy to style with the hairbrush that comes along with the doll, and different outfits are available to fit her. Though she comes to your home in everyday play clothing, the doll is equally adorable dressed in her Sunday best.
The Maxy Muffin is a perfect doll for a child 3-years-old and up -- boys as well as girls will be delighted with a pal they can tote anywhere -- an unfussy little friend whose versatility and charm will appeal to parents or grandparents as an ideal companion for playtime or naptime.
Just be careful that she doesn't climb into your heart, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Doll, January 5, 2007
This review is from: Gotz 16.5" Maxy Muffin Doll with Brown Hair (Toy)
I bought this doll at the Rehobeth Outlets for my daughter's December birthday. I did get it for a little less than it is selling for however, I probably would have payed full price! my daughter turned three and I wanted to get her a toddler like doll. Maxy Muffin is very durable, the clothes are trendy and of good quality. Not like some of the cheaply made dolls that are out there today! Truly a one-of-a-kind!
