5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite dolls for grandkids
I purchased this doll several years ago, and it has been by far the favorite doll of my five grandkids, especially my grandson (now 3) and granddaughter (now 2). It is durable and a great tub toy. I have never tried to use the potty with this doll, however. Although I have several dolls, this little boy doll has always been the first choice for all my grands' parenting...

2.0 out of 5 stars He can't hold it!
I bought this doll hoping to help my 22 month son get the idea of peeing in the potty. Just as other reviews have said when you give the bottle to this doll the water literally goes straight through. My son learned immediately that the baby couldn't go potty with out the bottle. there is no squeezing the tummy. You best have him over the potty when you feed him...

May work for our purposes, but it isn't what we thought we were buying.

I got this doll for my son when we potty-trained. While we got the deed accomplished (and thus 4 stars in that arena), the doll wasn't exactly helpful for a few reasons:

1) It doesn't wait to "pee" until you squeeze it. As soon as water is introduced, the doll wets all over the place! I solved the problem by holding my finger over the opening, but it would have been easier if it just waited until you squeezed.
2) Part of the potty training session we went through also recommended having the child put the doll's underwear on, but that was also very difficult because the doll's feet were turned in on themselves.
3) And finally, the bottle was difficult to fill - you have to hold it underwater for a long time to get it to fill up.

Overall, I'd say spend the extra money and buy the Potty Scotty doll, or another brand.

This is one of the few boy drink & wet dolls. I found there are some considerable issues with this product, although it functions enough to be better than no doll at all.

The pros:
No leakage of water other than where it's supposed to come out.
Anatomically correct.
The boy doll looks more toddler-like than baby-like (that's due mainly to the headband visor he wears).

The cons:
The bottle doesn't unscrew to fill, instead you have to squeeze it to get the air out and let it suck up water from a cup (so it's hard to completely empty the bottle and impossible to clean it inside, a hygiene issue).
The bottle is flimsy and broke along one of its vertical seams after only a few days of use.
The shorts the doll is wearing don't look very durable, which is not great considering how frequently they need to go on and off.
Is NOT designed as a push-the-tummy to make the pee come out, instead what goes in comes out right away (unless you feed the doll lying down and then quickly put upright on the potty - but then the 'reservoir' isn't very large so it's not a steady stream coming out.

Our workaround:
We're using the toy mainly to explain to our boy where the pee comes from and where it should go (in the potty). We put the doll's mouth under the tap (lying down) and carry it to the potty and then sit it upright to make the pee come out. It works at getting that basic message across, especially to a little boy who could be confused by a girl doll. My boy will hand me the doll to make the doll go potty (even when he isn't interested in trying the potty himself!) - so I like it that it's a way to keep teaching even when the child isn't interested in going on the potty.

Overall, I'm not thrilled with this product due to the problems listed above - yet it seems to work out for the purposes we want, and my 2 and a half year old seems to like it. It's certainly not great - but better than no doll at all.

I have never tried to use the potty with this doll, however. Although I have several dolls, this little boy doll has always been the first choice for all my grands' parenting play, both in and out of the bathtub. I find it refreshing to have a little boy for my grandchildren to enjoy. For role playing in and out of the tub, I highly recommend this doll.

This is a great doll for your baby to play with during bath time. My child loved doing this from nine months on. She is three now and still giving the baby a bath. Practically the only bath toy you need. These dolls are anatomically correct, great for little boys. I have given them as gifts and children love them. They get bad reviews because they do not work well as "drink-and-wet" dolls. I would not try to use the bottle other than in a pretend way, don't fill it with water and try to put the water in the baby. But I highly recommend it anyway, it will be a well-loved toy.

I was disappointed he's hard not cuddly. Then I was sent the wrong color blanket. Also there wasn't any instructions for how to use the water part of doll. Other then that I was happy & my Granddaughter is happy.

The bottle that is sold with this doll doesn't unscrew so it can be filled. The hold on the top of it is far too small to add water as well. I tried to contact seller to ask for my money back & they would not refund because I had opened it. How rediculous is this? It is not damaged yet they would not take it back. IM sure its because they know it doesn't work probably. Don't waste your money.. it is not worth it at all...

I purchaced this doll for toilet-training my son. The doll is anatomically correct, but it leaks the moment you let it "drink". The bottle ripped after 15 minutes of play.

My son (22 months) is a younger brother to an older sister (4 1/2). He adores her and wants to do everything she does. So of course, just like her, he wants to play with dolls. The problem, until now, is that EVERY doll out there is a "girl" doll with "girl" parts and is dressed in pink and purple. I LOVE that this doll is anotomically correct. As an added bonus, I found it at just the right time since he's just begun potty training. We haven't put it in the bath or "fed" it water, so I can't speak to how well that works, but he absolutely loves to change the baby's diaper, rock him "night night," and give him his bottle. I even found a blue stroller (without flowers!) on Amazon to go with it. Yay for European toy companies that realize it's ok for little boys to play with dolls!
