Gourmet Cooking with 5 Ingredients presents gourmet recipes for appetizers, salads, entrees, side dishes and desserts… all deliciously the best… all with only 5 ingredients. Prepare these recipes using the best ingredients and enjoy the luxury and rewards of gourmet cooking. This wonderful book has easy steps, easy-to-understand instructions, Chef’s notes, tips, options and special information and also provides extraordinary menus.

About the Author
Deborah Anderson is a native of Miami, Florida and began her avid interest in food from her multi-cultural expose to regional and ethnic cuisines. From her college days in Tallahassee, to her stays in New York City and Atlanta and through her extensive European travels, she has developed a philosophy of using fresh, high quality and powerfully-flavored ingredients that compliment one another. After attending cooking schools in Atlanta and LeCordon Bleu in Paris, France, she began writing a cookbook and contributed recipes to Gourmet magazine.

Deborah now lives in Florida’s panhandle with her husband, Don, and in 1991 their world changed with the birth of their daughter, Taylor. As a wife and a mother, she found herself with a very busy lifestyle and much less time for the lengthy processes of gourmet cooking. Not willing to give up the pleasures and rewards of gourmet cooking, she quickly recognized the need for simplicity and convenience and developed elegant, flavorful recipes with surprisingly few ingredients.

Deborah has a gift for "whipping up" gourmet-style meals with 5 ingredients and she shares them in her first cookbook. Her recipes are practical, realistic and easily managed by anyone with a desire for the extraordinary.

In Gourmet Cooking With 5 Ingredients, Deborah Anderson wins over amateurs and pros alike who want the elegance and luxury of gourmet cooking, but have the limitations of time.

She simply leads us on a journey, a food adventure, of wonderful and delicious experiences of fine dining, all in the comfort of our own homes. .

5.0 out of 5 stars Uncomplicated "Gourmet", October 6, 2002
By A Customer
In a perfect world, most of us who know and enjoy good food would spend hours shopping and then lovingly prepare outstanding meals.
But we live in the real world, where assembling 35 ingredients and spending a few hours perfecting garnishes is a physical impossibility for most of us. Work, kids, aging parents and the everyday flood of must-do's often dictate a compromise between what we like to cook (and eat) and the effort we can put into it.
Anderson has proven "gourmet" is not a synonym for "complicated," and in this books shares with us her culinary strategies to enjoy cooking and serving elegant, tasty dishes prepared with only 5 ingredients. And Cream of Mushroom Soup is not an "ingredient" in Anderson's kitchen! We're not talking tuna casserole here.
Yes, it sounded too simple to me, too, but her recipes actually call for only 5 ingredients (excluding salt & pepper)and taste like you spent a weekend in the kitchen. I recommend the crabcakes, which are to die for!
This book is on my Christmas list for all my friends who love food -- but can't spend days assembling exotic ingredients.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Bang for your Buck & Time! , December 6, 2004
By AJ (Columbus, OH USA) - See all my reviews
These recipes deliver a flavor "knock-out punch" with very little effort, and obviously, few ingredients. The recipes are kept simple b/c of the "only 5" format of this cookbook, so if one "wanted" to, one could add to (ad lib) with any given recipe one decided to make. If you want quick and "flavorful," you want this cookbook. ***This is the same book as the one with the white cover & states, "Easy Gourmet-Style Cooking with 5 ingredients" so don't buy both***
