5.0 out of 5 stars My friends all want one
My mother bought one of these for me years ago and I've used it and used it. It makes mouth watering potatoes in 8 minutes by using quartered Yukon Gold potatoes with a little butter and garlic salt--NO WATER. The potatoes literally melt in your mouth. You have to use common sense when it comes to portions, i.e. it's not meant for large amounts. I've just ordered three...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bottom melted making rice
I followed their instructions but used coconut milk and water as the recipe called for, wound up with a rice cake and melted platic... Don't use coconut milk or buy a better cooker, this one is cheap plastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Product, June 26, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This is an amazing product. You get the great taste of a pressure cooker with the speed and convenience of a microwave. I have shown this to two other family members and they have ordered one. Super fast shipping also from this reputable Amazon seller.........

I ordered this for one - person meals and it is OK for that. One thing you have to be sure of is that the liquid is absorbed. Depending on the Microwave, (Mine is 26 years old), is that you have all the liquid absorbed, or it will be soupy. It will not hurt after the time has passed to put it in for additional time, ususally less than 5 minutes.. I also spray PAM@ before starting, as it makes it easier to clean in the dishwasher as well as Dawn Power spray@. It will do a good job of cassaroles, rice, noodle and other pasta dishes, but leaves a little to be desired on true pressure cooking menus. Ok value for the price. I would buy it again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good covered pot, November 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Pros: Keeps the micro explosions contained. Cheap price. Just a good micro covered plastic pot. Keeps some of the steam in.

Cons: This not a "pressure cooker" by any definition of the word. It will boil over and seep out from under the lid if you fill it too much.

Recommended for someone that just wants a covered micro pot with a secure lid, especially for dorm cooking where you can not have a real stove.

I made beef stew with it and it took an hour and 45 min. My real pressure cooker does it in 50 min.

4.0 out of 5 stars good steamer - handy - boils over sometimes, November 5, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Handy Gourmet MicroMaster Microwave Pressure Cooker
This product is good to have but there are limits to usage.

This boils over if you have to cook things too long, like rice and

tapioca (use 5 minute brands) and if you make large portions with too much liquid. You have to watch it to catch it from boiling over.

Works well to semi-steam vegetables with a some water and a lot of vegetables (like peppers and onions). Good size for microwave, stays in great condition, cleans easily and has no plastic taste. Great for reheating and goes from fridge to micro with no problem. Comes in handy and use it frequently.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST COOKING UTENSIL IN MILLION DOLLAR KITCHEN, September 9, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For anyone who lives alone or just another person, this is the greatest and fastest way to make foods which are flavorful, exotic and most of all very quick to prepare. I have a really grand kitchen in my home and like to eat in a lot but do not entertain except for a friend.
I keep three of these around and have two microwaves built in.I make everything from paella, chicken and rice, chicken and dumplings, beef stew. ALL vegetables in two minutes, bratwurst and sauerkraut in 4 minutes with peppercorns and a bit of beer, nachos with shredded cheese in two minutes, invented a rice pudding, and reheats food in a minute.I keep two extras always because they get use, and give them as presents. The more expensive ones are identical.I recommend you have a fairly good microwave.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pressure Cooker in Disguise, September 21, 2009

This review is from: Handy Gourmet MicroMaster Microwave Pressure Cooker
This is NOT a true pressure cooker. It is, however, useful for cooking rice and pasta for a meal. This is more of a steamer and will not tenderize meats like a real pressure cooker. For the money and what it does, it's handy and useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Pasta and Rice, January 6, 2012
This review is from: Handy Gourmet MicroMaster Microwave Pressure Cooker
I must say that this microwave pressure cooker needs a better cookbook included or people need to post recipes as they figure them out. However, when it comes to Pasta and Rice - it is perfect! I followed the directions and my rice and pasta both turned out perfectly on the first try. I couldn't be more pleased! Now if I can just figure out some recipes...

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my second microwave pressure cooker, September 2, 2011

Bought this as a present for my sister. Believe me, this baby cooks up raw food in a fraction of the time while keeping all the vitamins in the food. Just fill with your favorite cut up vegetables, some butter, seal with the lock top and microwave on high for three minutes. Remove from microwave, shake, and then put back in the microwave for another three minutes. Wait two minutes after done, remove and shake and the food is cooked and read to eat. I've even used raw pasta or rice with the same instructions above. Everything was cooked properly.
