I saw this flatware and just had to have it because of it's style. It's very well made and the knives have no "seams" like my old knives; the blade and handle are made as a single piece. The pieces and long and elegant and well-balanced. The only drawback is that the teaspoons do not fit into a container of Yoplait yogurt because of their width, so I did not get rid of my older spoons. That is the only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5. They come out of the dishwasher beautifully clean. I just love them!

I saw the style of these and thought they were interesting so I decided to try them. First off they are long, I mean they are longer than your average utensil. Imagine chopstick length, that's an approximation. As others have mentioned the spoon is very oddly shaped and annoying to use. I felt these were just not for me so I returned them and got another unusual set that are excellent.Overall though not a bad quality product, solid and well made. So these might be perfect for someone else. It comes down to personal taste. Mind the spoon and length, if that's good for you then there are no other issues.

This flatware was more beautiful than expected. And marked 18/10!! Love the shape of the spoons. The knife is pure elegance. Shipped quickly. Totally satisfied.

I thought this service set would be a fun addition to my new kitchen but the oddly shaped spoons were actually uncomfortable to use.
The spoons appear to be shaped for those who sip their soup from the side, and not for those who shovel their Cap'n Crunch in from the front. Cool look though.

I bought two sets of Balance from Gourmet Settings direct and just wanted to chime in to say that this is really a terrific set of flatware. It's sturdy, feels great in the hand, a quality product, and is fantastically stylish.
The spoons are a bit wide but if that's not a deal breaker in your decision making I think you'd be very pleased with this set. If I needed more settings I would not hesitate to order more Balance for my table. |
