4.0 out of 5 stars Why haven't you bought this?
As a lover of Middle Eastern and foriegn music, I have to say this is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. You can dance to the charming gypsy like music, or rest from motion during the lilting vocals. This is a wonderful investment for anyone who is into world music or music that differs from the norm. And the movie was pretty good, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars An intoxicating blend of cultures and styles, January 9, 2002
This review is from: Governess (Audio CD)
This soundtrack is very different from your run-of-the-mill collection of songs, or instrumental selections. Beautiful melodies, crossing the boundaries from Sephardic Judaism to upper-crust 19th century English drawing rooms, is punctuated by the unforgettable voice of the late and lamented Yemenite superstar, Ofra Haza. The soundtrack worked perfectly within the context of the movie, and works just as well for a unique listening experience.
