I am former Marine, and I really wanted another poncho liner. "Cash sales," where one can usually buy such things on base, never had poncho liners. The poncho liners in the Army/Navy surplus stores were knock offs. I saw this one here on amazon, and bought it.

Well, it isn't US Government issue. Not sure which government it is issued to, but the familiar green label with the nomenclature looked close to the real thing at a glance, but it ain't the real thing on a second look.

But is the poncho liner good enough? Perhaps. It seems a bit bulkier/fluffier than a regular poncho liner, but probably wouldn't be noticible to those who haven't used a poncho liner as much as I have.

Would I buy this again? No. If you want a knock off and not the real thing, there are cheaper imitations out there. I'll still be looking for the real deal...

My husband was in Viet Nam. He had one of these Poncho Liners. We actually just wore it out. We would also fight to use it, because it is so light weight but unbelieveably warm. I started looking to replace it. First went to Army Surplus Store. No Luck there! So I tried Amazon. Amazon has everything! Bought two. We selected this one because it was made to GSA specs and it would be just like the one we wore out. Now we each have a Poncho Liner. The last one lasted 35 years. I expect these two new Poncho Liners to out live us both. Excellent Quality! Love, Love, Love! So happy to be able to wrap up in a new Poncho Liner on cold days!

My husband was very pleased when he got his new poncho liner. He brought one back from Vietnam and we have used it all these years, for everything from a tent to a blanket. It is made very well and seems a little heavier than our old one although it probably was heavier when new also. Or it could be just one with more fill. At any rate it is a real hit and I would buy from this seller again.

First of all, the description says this is manufactured by Rothco; it isn't. The label on the liner states "Tech. Products Mfg. Corp." I have an imported Rothco poncho liner and it states "Rothco" right on the label. I wanted to replace it with a U.S. made Rothco poncho liner. However, the quality on this one that is supposedly U.S. made is much worse than the quality of the imported one I already have. When I opened the package the liner already had stitching coming apart everywhere, the stitching lines are uneven and look terrible, and some of the strings on the edge of the liner are barely even stitched on and hanging by only a couple of threads. Though it doesn't say on the label that it is imported, it doesn't say that it is made in the U.S.A. either. If this is indeed made in the U.S. and I was the manufacturer, I would be embarrassed to sell this to anyone. I debated whether to just keep it until it falls apart and then get a different one, but I can't believe I paid $40 for this. It won't last a couple of months. You could get this kind of quality for a lot cheaper. Stay away from this one. Returned.

This is not the GI issued poncho liner. The material is not ripstop and the colors and padding are different from the one that actually was issued in the army that we still have. That being said they are still usable and we are not running through the jungle with them, just liked the way the other one felt on hot nights. These will do. Not returning them.

Meh, this is NOT official issue. You can tell just by looking at the data plate (like anything else in the Army). NSN is all wrong. But bought 2 for the kids for Christmas, they love em, lucky they will never find themselves in a survival situation like what me and my "liner" went thru! Okay purchase, nothing to brag about.

My dad got me one of these when he was in the military years ago. In the 80s. Its my favorite blanket in the world. When it started to wear I ordered this. It does the job okay, but it does not feel right and is not a government issue poncho liner. Its a lot stiffer then my old one.

I love this and I have one for myself also. This is for my grandson and he will use it a lot as I do. Good quality, sturdy, masculine.
