This review is from: Government by the People: How to Communicate with Congress (Spiral-bound)
Because of misinformation about Capitol Hill, many people make mistakes when they first contact their member of Congress. These mistakes can lead to wasted time and money, and to a bad relationship with the very people you may need help from later. This book is not only for the policy professional who wants to effectively send a message to Congress, but for the citizen activist who frequently deals with their Representative. This guide is laid out in an easy to read format and it is well written. It touches on many of the common mistakes made when contacting Congress and instructs the reader on the most effective approach for getting across his or her message. Having worked on Capitol Hill for the last eight years and now as a contractor in the private sector, I strongly recommend this book to my clients and friends. |
