Reed takes a while to get a good sound,

I've played oboe for about 4 and a half years. And reeds are always a problem! I tried looking for a good, but not too expensive reed. I thought Gower seemed good, but the sound of this reed was hornlike and abrupt and hard to tune at FIRST.It took me about a little more than a month for the sound to finally come out smoothly and better in tone. Buy this reed in advance before any serious playing.

I've been playing my oboe for about a year now, and I've tried maybe 5 different reeds along the way and this is the best reed I've ever used.The sound and quality of this reed is outstanding. This reed is better, I think, than the Jones reed. Like I said, best reed I've ever used

quality of sound is excellent with this reed, have tried many reeds earlier nothing comes close to this one as far as quality of sound is concerned. good customer service too.
