Great for 3rd year surgery clerkship,
By Matt Schwartz (New York, NY) - See all my reviews

Very solid book written for med students. I would def recommend getting this book over Lawrence for doing a surgery rotation. Lawrence is fine but its way too long. This book covers all that you'll need to know for the wards and the OR. It is a good book to read before going to scrub in because it has some nice, simple descriptions of common operations. It also gives indications when you should do certain procedures. It is pretty short and you can easily read through it during clerkship. I would supplement shelf studying with NMS casebook or CaseFiles. It is also written by UPenn surgeons, so you know its high quality.
