These cookies are mildly sweet and bland.
Whenever my stomach doesn't feel well, I have plain crackers or these simple cookies.A little rest with such delicate foods really helps hasten stomach flus and other digestive problems.
Also, they are so inexpensive.

i'm sad that the previous reviewer spoke of one bad experience and did not bother to actually describe the product. i still dont understand how they could not get ahold of the company if the company has its own website and whenever i have emailed for tips or recipes i always get a response. sounds like someone likes to play the victim.
anyways enough about the last reviewer on to the product. growing up in a hispanic household there was always a package of Maria crackers at the ready for unexpected guest. often my mother would serve them with coffee or hot chocolate. Maria crackers have a lightly sweet taste with a hint of caramel ( not like caramel sauce or candy but like the caramel you would get on top of creme brulee). they are crunchy but not hard and are great for dipping since they do not break up when moist.

I recently discovered these cookies in my large area supermarket. For 79 cents, I thought I couldn't go wrong. I love them! They are not too sweet and have a nice crunch to them without being too hard. They remind me a lot of Social Teas. For a treat, allow some ice cream to soften. Put a tablespoon of ice cream on one cracker and put another cracker over the top to make a "sandwich". Freeze in foil or wax paper. Yum! And not very high in calories or fat, depending on which ice cream you use. I think Goya could give Nabisco a run for its money, based on taste and price of these lovely crackers.

I had another brand of Maria cookies and loved them so decided to order some but didn't know what brand they were, just that they were in a red package.. I decided all Maria cookies should be good as its a simple cookie..not so, these a re slightly over baked and leave an after taste like when shortening or oil is rancid...and I had to order a case which is 24 packages...boy will I not make a mistake like that again...I only have myself to blame..just hope the Goya company checks their baking times and their ingredients...never again....

I love this type of cookies and order them quite often but I put a 4-star because I just received a new order that comes from a different manufacturer plant and this new batch of cookies taste quite different and even the texture is different.

They're a bit like animal crackers, but a little sweeter. A great alternative to other sugary snacks. Perfect with a small glass of milk.

I loved the Goya Maria crackers which I bought initially in a supermarket in Florida. Since this product was seldom on the shelves in my hometown supermarkets,I decided to buy direct from Goya and ordered a carton of 24 packages. Each one I opened was overbaked and brittle. I eventually threw them all out because there was no way to reach the factory. I did buy a package recently when it was available in the supermarket. I feel somehow that the factory was happy to unload some unacceptable batches on an unwary customer.
