GraLab has eliminated the switch that used to allow you to deactivate the loud end-of-timing buzzer, although the price of the timer has been increased. This is no small thing for me. I used to like the loud buzzer that signaled the end of my high school basketball games (the same GraLab Model 300). But that was in a gymnasium. In my small darkroom, I don't like to have my eardrums blasted. Contacted GraLab to ask how I can deactivate the buzzer (what wire to cut, or whatever). They said I could send the unit to them -- knowing I wouldn't want to incur the shipping cost and delay -- but otherwise refused to help. I might give the timer two stars despite all this. But they've also reduced the maximum current the timer can handle for enlargers and safelights. So it's one star.

I bought the predecessor to this timer in the 1970's. Gave it a good workout in my basement darkroom. It's a great timer. Very reliable and easy to see in the dark. Wore out the on/off switch, but was able to replace it with a standard toggle switch purchased at Lowes. Same timer was used at shooting range to time shooting matches. Two outlets are very handy. One is on while the timer is in use. The other turns on at the end of the timing cycle. I now use the timer for my workout sessions. Takes a licken and keeps on ticken!

I have bought two gralab timers the past two years. This one failed in about 6 months. Bought another gralab timer and it failed in about 7 months.
I only bought grablab timer because we bought one 20 years ago and it lasted with everyday use 24/7 in our lab for 18 years so obviously I bought gralab again.
NEVER again. This company is not what it was when we bought our first one.
This product is terrible, no value, not worth ordering. I am currently looking for other options and will move to a cheap digital timer from walmart now.
I don't know what Gralab has done but they obviously lowered their quality.
Pass on this one, look for other options.
Do not buy this.................................unless you only need it for 6 months.

Gralab,
Come on guys......what are you doing?
