Perhaps I and my cooking skills are a bit beyond this book and it's my fault I didn't like it, but for me there wasn't enough "mix" and too many fresh ingredients.I don't want to have to add more than a couple of fresh ingredients when using a mix or it's not convenient. If I have to fuss this much with things, what the heck I will make it from scratch anyway. This is not the book for you if you are looking for mixes as gifts, for camping, or for your emergency supply pantry. there are just too many "extras" needed to complete each recipe.

I purchased this book because I live alone and work full time. I like cooking with whole foods as much as possible, and I hoped that this book would give me ideas on ways to speed up the cooking process - recipies for meals that I could make up the dry ingredients for and be able to quickly cook with few additions.
Unfortunately, this is not the book for that. First of all, it is very much geared toward how to make gifts, not day to day meals. Secondly, when the recipie is for salt, pepper and dried chives and the rest of the nine or ten ingredients are added when the dish is cooked, there is no reason to make up the "bag". I found nothing useful in this book and I am very disappointed.

Grab A bag Cookbook,
A Kid's Review

My wife has a very busy schedule raising three children and working, This book has significantly improved the quality of meals in our house while reducing the time spent in the kitchen. The other benefit of this book is it has eased the turmoil of preparing the weeks grocery list and saved us money and time. For anyone with a hectic lifestlye who likes to eat (not at resturants all of the time) this book is for you. I'm not 12 I'm realy 39 but the computer is smater than me.
