You can use the adapter or I found a stray USB port on my television that easily powers the 3-Play.

It works decently in this regard ... limited to about a 12 ft range though.

The 3-Play Jukebox Bluetooth Adapter is a nifty little device. I had no difficulty pairing it with three Android phones (two active phones and one old phone that's only on wi-fi now) as device "3PlayJambadoo." First, however, I had to load an app named "Grace 3Play" from the Google Play Store. (Note that the user guide says the app is named "3PlayJambadoo" - this is incorrect.)

Once the three phones were paired, it was simple to switch from one to another. I tried to show how easy it was in my video, and I think I was successful. Note that I was using three Android devices, and I can't vouch for non-Android devices.

Grace Digital has developed a really nifty little gadget, which to my knowledge is the only device of its kind at this time.

A product sample was provided by the manufacturer on the promise of an honest, unbiased review.

The short of it: Superb audio quality; limited range 9ft (3 meters); first unit dead/refunded, second unit functional.

In more detail: The first unit I received of the Grace Digital GDI-BTPB300 3Play Jukebox Bluetooth Adapter (Black) was unfortunately defective. It simply wouldn't pair with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5). It was promptly refunded by Amazon. Communicating with the vendor, Grace Digital, wasn't very fruitful--but as expected Amazon came through speedily and refunded the entire purchase. (Grace Digital eventually sent a return label at their expense for the already-refunded defective unit.) I then ordered again the exact same Grace product. It again took a few days to arrive but this time the new unit performed, and continues to do so, beautifully: its high data transfer rate through Bluetooth version 4 means less compression of audio, and its optical output jack inoculates against analog degradation in signal prior to amplifier. (This is in stark contrast to a Yamaha unit I had previously purchased--and retunred--the Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver. That Yamaha product is hindered by its low data transfer rate through its outdated Bluetooth version 2.1, and that results in lower audio quality--akin to 92 kbps MP3 (or lower) meaning bad soundstage, absent transients, muddled bass.

A caveat: connected to my Samsung Galaxy S5 the range of the unit is **only** about 9ft (3 meters)which is deplorable for such an otherwise high-quality product.

It is hard to believe that such a small device can offer so much flexibility. This is tiny and will sit conveniently out of the way, on top of your receiver or tucked to the side. But what it does is open up is easy play convenience in our super technology based world.

I have a smartphone, a Kindle Fire and a Samsung Galaxy tablet. My daughter has an iPod Touch. I know, are we plugged in or what. I have different things on each item. My phone streams my Amazon cloud music as well as local radio (better than what we can get reception on our actual radio). My tablet and Kindle play movies and can also stream music. Our iPod Touch plays loaded music, etc. etc. It is really nice to be able to hook this up to our receiver and whatever is being used is whatever plays. There is no need to unpair any device or search to pair it up. Once you have paired your devices and the Jukebox Bluetooth is plugged in, a tap on the top will put it on alert and it will automatically switch to whatever device is putting out a signal. Sometimes we have battles but really, it is just great for grabbing whatever I want to use at the time.

It comes with the bluetooth switcher, a USB charging cable and the wall plug. It will work while plugged in to AC power but will also work on battery power. It does not come with an audio cable even though it is listed as "What's in the box" but an audio cable is easy to come by.

It switched really easily without any effort or noticeable issues. It is easy enough to just keep it plugged in and ready to go. The sound quality is great. Actually, only as good as the quality of what you are sending it to. So if your speaker/receiver is not great, this will not magically make it better.

A few days using this device intensely has made this a love/hate relationship. The device itself is awesome, very easy to setup and use with its single button interface. The internal battery allows you to simply pick it up and go, if you need to use it anywhere. And allowing up to three connections simultaneously is perfect, because you don't need to keep syncing all the time between different sources. But it also has some flaws, most of which I am learning to workaround, the worst being signal range and macbook compatibility.

1. Small and beautiful, simple to setup and use.
2. Internal battery makes usable in a lot of scenarios.
3. Allow up to three connections simultaneously, so no need to keep syncing between different sources.

1. Very short range. Curiously, the workaround I found for this is to turn the device on its side. When you use the device as intended (button facing up), the bluetooth signal oscillates between -60 and -70 dBm with a distance of only 2 feet (0.5 meters). On its side (button facing sideways), the signal increases instantly to -40 dBm and the connection becomes very reliable.

2. Doesn't like the macbook so much. It seems the macbook has some problems detecting devices that use the Apt-X codec for improved sound quality, and insists on using the SCO codec, which besides being poor, is not supported by this device. If you experience connection problems (eg.: A bluetooth audio error occurred), you probably have to force-enable the Apt-X codec. Do this:

2A. Download Bluetooth Explorer from the Apple Developer website.
2B. Then, click in Utilities, Special Options, Enable Apt-X.
2C. Then, restart the computer.

Even after doing this, sometimes the macbook still insists on using SCO.
