Product Description

The number-one choice of Jamaicans, Grace Original Jamaican Hot Pepper Sauce is also becoming the standard for hot sauces around the world. Specially grown Jamaican Habanero and Scotch Bonnet peppers - carefully selected for premium quality - are processed with natural cane vinegar and spices, then aged to produce a distinctively hot and spicy flavour.

I've tried as many sauces as i can get and this is the best.

The spice is weak, the sauce is a little thicker than water, and you won't taste any sweetness of the Scotch Bonnet.
Ghenghis
It's deep and satisfying; much more complex than the average hot sauce.

This is the best hot sauce I've ever had. I enjoy spicy foods, and I would rate my tollerance around an 8 on a scale of 1-10, with 5 being your average person off the street. This sauce is spicy, but the best part is its fantastic flavor. It's deep and satisfying; much more complex than the average hot sauce.

I grew up a Tobasco lover and discovered Grace only a few years ago. Since then, it has replaced Tobasco, Texas Pete, Frank's, Cholula, and every other hot sauce I've ever tried. It's the only thing I buy, now!

The most direct comparison I can make is that this one has more heat and flavor than Tabasco or any of the North American sauces I have tried. However, it does have a slightly sour taste from the cane vinegar - a flavor characteristic that it shares with Tabasco and its competitors. It is also much hotter than the Tabasco type sauces.

This one stands out in the flavor and the blend of peppers. Ingredients simply list unspecified spices, but I can detect what may be tamarind because there is a tang that you cannot get with just vinegar. There is also a little sweetness that I am guessing is cane sugar since nearly all Jamaican hot sauces contain it. It is salty with 80mg of sodium per serving, which is double that of Tabasco and also most Jamaican hot sauces.

I started this review by making a comparison to Tabasco, which shares many characteristics with this one. Since describing tastes is difficult I will also do a direct comparison to another Grace product, Grace Scotch Bonnet. This one is thinner in viscosity, not as rich flavored, but with a more pronounced bite. The bite is probably from the habanero peppers that are blended with the Scotch bonnet ones in this sauce. Once the initial bite subsides the piquant component has the characteristic build and spread glow of the Scotch bonnet peppers.

Overall this is an excellent substitute for the Tabasco style sauces on the market. Indeed this seems to have been designed to sell in that market space since it appeals to folks who want a more exotic alternative to Tabasco, but who are not as fond of the Caribbean styles of hot sauces that are sweeter and hotter.

Excellent taste for any dish you care to spike up . Most comparable products are a mix of vinegar and chili, this has a little extra condiment.

I just returned from Jamaica yesterday and my bottles of hot sauce broke in my luggage I was so upset because it was the best I ever had. Good thing you can order almost anything on amazon.

Should have just went to store. Shipping is horribly slow. Sauce is great, if its not grace its a waste but still.
