Grace truly does Rule,
By Bill Reese (Norcross, GA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Grace Rules: Living in the Kingdom of God Where... (Paperback)
In the book Grace Rules, the reader is asked to focus on the grace that God has imparted upon us as Christians through His son, Jesus Christ. Whether you are a believer or curious about religious thought, this book provides knowledge and numerous examples to explain the concept of grace. As I traversed the pages of Grace Rules, I appreciated the fact that when the author presented a thought he included the appropriate scripture references. The scriptural basis was more than adequate to withstand even the toughest inquisitor. By the end of book, I realized the author's desire for the reader had been met and I walk each day with a different step than before, because I know that the grace of God is truly authentic. I am pleased with the way the book unfolded and look forward to perusing the pages of it again in the future. It helped me desire the presence of my Lord and Savior and to know that His grace is sufficient for me. This paperback provided a great follow-up to the previous, Grace Walks, and is designed so one literary work is not dependent of the other.

Do you know what you have in Christ?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Grace Rules: Living in the Kingdom of God Where... (Paperback)
Is your focus on Christian service (law) or Jesus Christ (grace)? Dr. McVey writes in everyday and down to earth language with examples of how to "Say Goodby to Mr. Law," how about "Knowing God's Will," or "Living for Jesus." These are just a few of the chapter titles. All of Dr. McVey's explanations are backed with carefully thought out examples and scripture. "A Smiling God," Chapter 8 was the turning point for me. On page 147, "Grace is the voice of God saying 'I will bless you until your behavior does improve!' When grace rules a man wants to live a consistently godly life style." On page 200, Galatians 5:1, "'It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.' The battle is over and you won because of Jesus." This is a book about hope and joy and Yes, GRACE.

The Beginning of Understanding,
By HK1412 "HK1412" (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Grace Rules: Living in the Kingdom of God Where... (Paperback)
This book has been my "beginning of understanding" to the true message of Christ and the amazing love He has for us. I now understand that I am free from the power of sin that once seperated me from God. This book will show you how to practically walk out the message of grace by allowing Christ to live IN you and actually BE your life. You should read Steve McVey's first book "Grace Walk" as well if you want to get a more complete picture of God's grace. If you know there is something more to the Christian life but don't know how to experience it, this book is for you.

Destined To Become A Classic!!!,

Enjoying and walking in an intimate relationship with Jesus is The Father's perfect will, for every Believer. Yet the burden and responsibility to know God, to really KNOW Him, hinges not upon our "spiritual commitments," but upon the finished work of Christ and the grace which is always new and available for us as Believers. The Apostle Paul said: "I do not set aside the grace of God for if righteousness could be gained by the Law, Christ died for nothing. - Galatians 2:21While the established religious mind set of our day is to mix law and grace (Galatians 1:6), Dr. Steve McVey brings spiritual clarity and simplicity to the Gospel which liberates those who are being spiritually drained by subtle legalistic teachings which abound everywhere. One can never remain the same when they truly hear the Lord speaking to their spirit through Steve's wonderful book. Grace Rules in the heart of Steve McVey, and will in yours too as you allow the Spirit to bear witness of the very Life of Jesus who lives in you and who longs to live His Life through you (Galatians 2:20) as you are brought to a place of Rest in Christ. This book truly is a masterpiece.

This review is from: Grace Rules: Living in the Kingdom of God Where... (Paperback)
Once again Steve McVey has broadened our understanding of Grace. In Grace Rules McVey shows us how to not only to live in Grace but how our lives will be different when Grace Rules in all areas of our lives. Like Grace Walk and Grace Amazing, McVey just gives us more indepth understanding of God's Awesome Grace. I highly recommend this book along with Grace Amazing and Grace Walk. McVey has hit the target again in helping us understand God's Grace. Grace Rules is a must read.

Steve McVey does it again!,
By Caleb Osborne "Caleb" (Fredericksburg, VA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Grace Rules: Living in the Kingdom of God Where... (Paperback)
He really hits the nail on the head with this one!In Steve's first book in this series, Grace Walk, He presented the fundamental truth that all of us Christians have to understand-That the Christian life is not one of us trying to live it for God, but us letting Christ live His life through us! Grace Rules is his second book in this series. Whereas the first one was from Steve's first experiences and his story of how God led him to this truth, this book comes from a more mature "Gracewalker". The illustrations and metaphors backed up with Biblical signposts throughout the text simply leave no room for doubt, Christ living through us is the key to success! If you liked Grace Walk you'll love this book! Even if you didn't read Grace Walk--you'll still love this one! The usually confusing concepts are made easy to understand-no easy task I assure you (as I learned writing my book 'Christ Through Me'-see my profile). The second book in McVey's "Grace" series and a masterful one at that. A definite must read if you are a Christian and you want to know why God offered you the gift of salvation. Heck, even non-believers would do well to read this book, as it presents the true view of Christianity!

Amazing Grace,
By A Customer
This review is from: Grace Rules: Living in the Kingdom of God Where... (Paperback)
A powerful book, which opens the eyes of many Believers to a gift that is many times forsaken and abused. Grace rules Believers' lives, not the law. It's amazing how many times we fall into Satan's trap of earning grace or working towards it. May our hope and prayer be that as Believers, grace rule our lives each day and hour. Such an amazing grace was freely given to us through Christ. A grace that will never fade or pass away, but live eternally.

Another refreshing look at Grace.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Grace Rules: Living in the Kingdom of God Where... (Paperback)
Once again Author Steve McVey has given us a rich refreshing look at our relationship with God as Christians. He shows that it is not based upon the law, and performance based acceptance, but upon grace, and Christ based acceptance. He shows the reason many Christians live a defeated life--their focus on law, and the response of the flesh to that focus. Grace Rules has made me apprecaite my position in Christ, and the fact that His life is in me, more than ever!!

The person I got this for keeps raving about how good it is to read something that frees them from their past of living by such strict rules. They have enjoyed the freedom this book gives them and also lets them know more about the love of God.
