Book Description

Graceland's Table is the first cookbook written with the full cooperation of Elvis Presley Enterprises. In addition to recipes from fans for Elvis, the book includes photographs of Elvis at home and full-color food photos taken in Graceland for the book.

The 175 recipes in Graceland's Table come from two sources: EPE's archives of Elvis's favorite recipes and Elvis's fans. The recipes from the fansáwere solicited through EPE's electronic newsletter, its catalog, and the more than 400 fan clubs. Fans submitted a recipe they would have liked to cook for Elvis should they have been invited to Graceland for a meal and explained the reason for their choice. Fans were asked to submit recipes linked to a particular song or movie title or person in Elvis's life (e.g. Love Me Chicken Tenders, Colonel Parkerhouse Rolls, Blue Suede Berry Pie). Twelve recipes came from EPE and over 150 from the fans.

The book also has 35 B&W photos of Elvis and Graceland and 20 full-color food photos, trivia, and stories by those who knew Elvis such as Joe Esposito, Elvis's road manager, Patty Perry, the only female member of the Memphis Mafia, and Marian Cocke, Elvis's nurse.

Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Graceland's Table is far more than a cookbook. It is chock full of recipes, pictures, interesting tidbits, and anecdotes. Inserted in the center is a full color glossy insert containing pictures of Elvis, his family and fans, plus photos of the rooms in Graceland. The recipes are wonderful and they work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Out The Bacon Mama January 9, 2010
Format:Hardcover
As a southerner and big Elvis fan, this is one book I couldn't resist!! I'm afraid I love most of the foods he loved...scary as it is. So get out the bacon, mama, along with some bananas, and peanut butter, and let's eat. I highly recommend this unique book to fans of the KING everywhere!

5.0 out of 5 stars come sit at this amazing table July 17, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
"Graceland's Table" is filled with amazing personal stories, beautiful photos, touching and humorous insights, and an astounding variety of recipes. The food is fabulous--ranging from down-home good cookin' to creative culinary delights! I am Southern to the bone. I have loved Elvis since I was a little girl. For almost 50 years, I lived with a legendary Elvis fan--my Mama! "Graceland's Table" proudly resides among my collection of Elvis memorabilia. Good cookin' tonight!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars This Elvis Fan is disappointed! :( June 18, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Very Disappointed in the "So-Called" recipes in this book.
This is just a bunch of people who threw together a book with "Tacky"
recipe titles! There is nothing that even remotely resembles good southern cooking,
and I doubt very much if Elvis would ever eat such slop!

5.0 out of 5 stars Elvis loved his fans May 11, 2015
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Elvis loved his fans, and these recipes are an expression of love from the faithful. I made several of the dishes and they were all kinds of Southern decadent. I enjoyed the anecdotes from fans and acquaintances, a delightful collection!
