It was a gift for my daughter, and she loved it.

It's very crooked - where the lid extension bit - that hold the lid down when you pour liquid is made for the side part of the teacup - no where the handle is located.

Product design itself is delightful but this supplier is selling off repaired 2nd grade quality for 1st grade prices.

The spout was chipped, so they took a gold pen (sharpie) and penned over the chip to visually hide the chip in the spout, but if you run your finger over the area, you can feel the chipped and missing glazed area.

Also the opening to the teapot where the lid sits, is malformed, so the lid does not sit flush or tight, a very wobbly fit.

This is a cute piece. The nice surprise is that the little pot holds almost 2 of the cups of tea. The sad points are that the cup is crooked, the teapot does not fit in the cup securely, and it is severely over-priced. The packaging was poor and the lid wasn't wrapped. It also came with a thick coat of gritty dust. Anyway, I will enjoy exotic tea in my pretty crooked cup. I'm rating it 3 stars because I think Amazon is the best US company and I will always buy from #1. However I do regret not purchasing one of the other tea-for-one choices and will in the future purchase another one of better quality. I am thankful that I didn't purchase this as a gift.

This is about the cutest tea-for-one I have ever seen.

Sits sturdy as one piece with no wobbling even though the teacup portion is elevated. All 4 pieces fit together perfectly and solidly.

The design -good quality roses and complete as was the gold trim...no scratches at all to the designs.

Little gift tag hanging off the handle was perfect touch.

***Only improvement: instructions for use and care should have been included.

First, i really like this 'tea-set.' Its very pretty and has a lovely shape. Its clearly not very good quality but for the price it looks pretty good (i have quite a lot of good quality china i know the difference)

However, its pretty much non-functional. The spout is VERTICAL which means that in order to pour liquid out, you must turn the pot a full 90 degrees down which causes the tea to leak out of the chamber (the part with the 'lid'). Its not that you're pouring it wrong or overfilling the pot, its that the spout point directly UP at 12 oclock and you have to get it to 3 oclock before liquid will pour out by which time the body of the pot it completely on its side. Or, it will suddenly pour a really long stream OVER your cup! Argh!

So, overall, if you're looking for a cheap, cute looking pot/cup set then its good, but if you actually want to drink tea out of it (like i actually wanted to do)its maybe not a good buy.

At the risk of sounding inept, I must admit that I can't quite figure out how to pour tea from the teapot without it spilling all over the table. I decided to practice with plain water first. Tried pouring; it spilled. Tried pouring more slowly; still spilled. Tried pouring more quickly; still leaked water all over the table. I noticed that over-filling the teapot causes water to leak from the top while pouring. I avoided doing this, yet the teapot remained messy to use. I made my first pot of actual tea and placed a roll of paper towels nearby, which were handy for cleaning up the spills. Is it just me? Is there a certain way to use these mini teapots that I haven't figured out?

Aside from that, the set looks adorable in my kitchen, so I gave it 3 stars just for its decorative value. Being a stickler for perfection, I did notice the rose pattern is not hand-painted but screen printed, I guess. The roses on the widest part of the teapot are therefore "stretched" in appearance, while rose pattern on other parts is smaller. I also noticed the sloppy application of the gold-leaf trim on one side of the teapot, however, if I turn the set a certain way, that part doesn't show.

When I first opened the package I was thrilled with the coloring - then everything went downhill after that. The quality is very poor. It has speckled marks inside the cup - looks like they glazed the cup while it still had debris inside it. The inside cup glaze is also uneven, so you can see it pooled at the bottom of the cup. Under the cup where it touches the plate isn't glazed, so eventually it will scratch the plate. But the worst is the lid to the teapot doesn't fit properly. It's very crooked - where the lid extension bit - that hold the lid down when you pour liquid is made for the side part of the teacup - no where the handle is located. Or the lid didn't belong to this pot. Also, the spout opening is very crooked. Just very poor quality. I'm returning the set.

My Daughter picked this out for me, as I wanted a Classical Teapot etc., for so long.
It is absoloutly perfect and is just what I wanted for drinking my Earl Grey!!!
The only downside is, when I pour it, it seems to leak everywhere. Ive tried putting less water in, holding the teapot at different angles.
I'm now wondering if it is purely for ornamental purposes?
