Sleeps like a baby,

We received this as a Christmas gift when our daughter was less that two months old. She was sleeping poorly in her bassinet so we moved her over to the swing. She's been sleeping in it ever since. I removed the 5 pt harness and left it as a 3 pt because it also has the leg post in the middle. I also removed the infant support. We just lay a blanket underneath her, flip the end of it over her legs, and snap her in.
I've used both the timer and the sounds settings. Both work great. I just wish the timer told you how long before it shut off without having to look at the manual. Battery life is excellent. I use it from 9:30 PM to 7 AM every night and usually 2 hours in the afternoon on the weekends and 3 D batteries last about 3 weeks. You can actually hear the swing motor run for a couple of swings and rest for a couple of swings. It's very quiet and efficient. The swing has 6 speeds and at 14lbs, our daughter is only on #3. I would definitely recommend this product. We'll eventually switch our LO over to a crib, but for now, this is the way to go. Update: We switched our LO over to a crib after over 2 1/2 months in the swing as described above. It never lost power or had an issue. I actually put her in it occasionally afterwards and even as she approached 20lbs, it still ran beautifully.

Shoddy quality,

We purchased this swing from Target this week and it's pretty crummy. The motor doesn't move the swing unless you push it for at least 15 minutes and sometimes not even then. We've tried everything they recommend to fix it (more new batteries, hardwood floor instead of carpet, etc.) and it doesn't help. My child is about 9 1/2 pounds, so his weight is certainly not the issue. Other reviewers are right about the assembly instructions as well, but that isn't our primary complaint. We just want it to work! Sometimes it will seem to be working but then I'll walk away for a few minutes and when I come back it's sitting still, with the motor still making its usual noise. I've contacted Graco via e-mail, and if they resolve the problem I'll amend this review, but for now, don't buy this swing! I gave it 2 stars instead of 1, because when/ if it finally gets going my child really does like it, but it should not be so ridiculously difficult to achieve!

*No better than any other swing,

*For $100 this thing should be mostly assembled. I called customer service four months ago because one of the legs didn't fully snap down into the swing. I just got the replacement leg today. The mobile moves to the back of the swing while in motion. Lets not even get started on the monthly cost of feeding the swing it's batteries. I hate that no one makes wind up swings anymore. I thought "going green" was in fashion. Save a few dollars, this isn't worth the cost.

OK but difficult to assemble!,

Pros:
-It keeps my daughter calm for a few minutes here and there, and occasionally she sleeps in the swing. -It is very sturdy -The neutral color matches everything. Cons: -I had more help assembling this swing from looking at the picture on the box than from the tiny illustrations and the vague instructions. For example, it tells you to attach part A to Part B, but it doesn't tell you HOW to do it. It took me about an hour and a half to assemble and with clearer instructions it could have taken 20 minutes. -The tray is impossible to take off once you put it on unless you want to break it off. -It doesn't come with batteries. All in all, I'm glad I bought the swing but I don't know if it was worth nearly $100 when I practically had to assemble it from scratch. |
