This swing is the absolute worst swing you could possibly buy, along with any other battery operated Graco swing. At first glance, the swing is put together and appears to be great. It's comfy and does swing nicely. The two main problems...

1. The clicking is really loud on the lower swing speed. It would wake my daughter every so often until she was really in a deep sleep.

2. The absolute worst part about this swing is that you have to replace the batteries so often. When I first got this, I thought it was broken because it stopped working after 2 days. Turns out it just needed batteries. Thinking maybe I just got a set of bad batteries, I went out and got another set. Sure enough just over 2 days later, it was dead again. Ok fine, so rechargeables right? Nope! Regular C batter are 1.5V which is required to run this thing. Rechargeable batters are only 1.2V and will not run this thing. So this swing is completely useless unless you want to spend a couple hundred dollars on batteries every month.

We got this because it was the nicest one they had at Walmart, but we are taking it back and will spend the extra money to get a plug in type swing.

I had a nice baby swing that I got at a garage sale. It lasted me through 2 babies but it broke and I had to buy a new one for my 3rd. The swing I used to have was pretty old so I expected a new one to be an improvement. I was very disappointed.

This swing isn't all bad. The chair is nice and cushy and my daughter is quite cozy in it. She also really likes the mobile. I think the pink and black make an interesting contrast for her to look at. The base is nice and stable and the swing is not too loud. That being said, the bad outweighs the good.

The dial with variable speeds seemed like a good feature until I actually tried it out. There aren't any numbers or markers on the dial so you have no way to tell where the speed is set at unless it's all the way up. My old swing was able to propel the cradle on it's own. It worked faster and better if you gave it a push but if you didn't it would eventually swing start swinging by itself. The comfy cove swing can't do this. It won't start swinging until you push it. This issue combines with the dial to be really inconvenient. When I give it a push it takes a while for the swing to settle into a speed. Because the dial has no clear settings, it takes several minutes to determine what speed the swing is set at. If it's too fast or slow you have to readjust it and start the process over again. The speeds are pretty useless in any case. Anything less than full power barely moves the cradle. When the batteries are fresh full speed is a little much for my one month old, but if I set it lower it doesn't move at all.

Another feature my old swing has that this one lacks is an automatic shut off. Once my daughter falls into a deep sleep I don't need the swing to stay on, but I'm not always awake myself to turn it off.
