I bought this chair for my one year old boy. We already have the baby trend seat, which is still being used for my middle child. I would have purchased another one, as we love it, but the seat is a little low in relation to the tray. I really liked the look of this chair, it was priced reasonably and had some good reviews. Two things about it that I don't like: the front wheels do not swivel, which makes it much harder to maneuver than our baby trend. And the other reason is the flip over snap tray. It takes some getting used to, as far as the strength that is needed to lock it. I actually caught my finger in it once as I locked it down- OUCH!
I still think it is very attractive and is padded nicely. So far, it has been easy to keep clean.
One more negative. My baby figured out almost immediately how to flip up the inner tray, so I don't even use it now. Graco should make it stay put a little differently, maybe by having to lift it from the front, rather than the rear, so kids can't do it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, June 5, 2009

Features I love:

reclining back (though I don't really like the mechanism, I love the fact that I can recline the back...my 7 month old likes to take his bottle laying back a bit, but prefers to be sitting upright when being spoon-fed baby food)

material pattern (great for boy or girl)

bottom storage rack (great for bibs and washcloths for those messy mealtimes)

leg stability and raise/lower capability (sturdy and stable - I even hang some bags on the side that I use to store toys that my son uses while I'm getting his food ready)

Food trays (love that there's a big one that is great for playing and self-feeding and easily removes and a small permanent one under it that I prefer when I'm feeding him b/c it let's me get closer)

Things I don't like:

wheels (back one's swivle which is great, but front go only straight which makes it hard to rotate chair around...it scratches our wood floor if I don't lift up the front wheels when I'm moving it b/c they drag)

seat cover clips (they keep coming unsnapped when I recline the back - it's not a huge deal, but annoying that the fabric keeps getting loose on the sides b/c the fastener mechanism pops off)

mechanism for reclining back (I don't really like the mechanism that reclines it b/c it's a little hard to do with one hand and doesn't easily lock into place...there's 2-3 holes for degree of recline on each side - they don't always line up when you recline it at first)

Overall, I'm very pleased with this high chair and felt is was the best quality for the money. I wish it had come with an extra cover - I'll probably look into getting one now so that I'll have it if we have a second baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, Safe and Cozy, March 4, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Graco Cozy Dinette Highchair, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
We purchased this highchair for our grandson and we give it a 5-star rating. It is sturdy, easy to move and easy to store, and provides a cozy and supportive seat for our 6 month-old grandson. Once he is safely strapped in we have both hands free to introduce him to the wonders of eating with a spoon.
Pros: Makes all aspects of feeding safe, and easy. Table top is easily removed for cleaning.
Cons: Does not pick up the food and toys that our grandson tosses to the floor.

1.0 out of 5 stars NEED TWO VERY STRONG HANDS TO OPEN TRAY, July 25, 2010
I never take the time out to write reviews on any purchase, however, this time I felt it my responsibility to forewarn other moms and dads of the Graco Cozy Dinette Highchair. I registered for this highchair on my baby registry because it matched the pack and play I wanted. I never thought of trying out the chair first. HUGE MISTAKE!!! The chair is beautiful, but opening the inner tray to be able to get the baby in and out is impossible to do with one hand. Even my strong husband needed to use two hands to pry open the tray. I pinched my fingers TWICE when I tried closing the latch. It also makes a VERY LOUD NOISE when you do manage to snap the latch back together which would startle any baby and could also seriously injure the baby. PLEASE look for another highchair.....best to try them out first at the store and then purchase from Amazon. That's what I have to do now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as user-friendly as the Graco Contempo, October 26, 2009

I purchased the Contempo chair for my in-law's house in Arizona before I needed a chair here at home. It was very easy to use. When I returned home and needed a highchair here, I found this one on sale. The main reasons I prefer the contempo to this chair are:
1: The swivel wheels and brakes are in back on this model which actually makes it harder to manuver. When you are trying to orient the baby to you, you will need to move the back part of the chair-- and if you already set the wheel locks, then you must just drag the chair into position. This isn't a big deal if you have a set location for your highchair; but if you need to move it frequently, this can be a hastle.
2: The lift-gate that you open to place your child in the chair is really stiff and can be hard to open one handed. It is just a plastic latch-type like the Graco swings have.

Other than those two issues, it works well, is easy to put together and operate. I have a younger baby and haven't used the tray often-- the lift-gate latch has a nice mini tray-like space that works for her (about 3" x 8") that I use for her toys or will use for finger foods soon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good high chair, could be better, January 25, 2010
I love the neutral colors and pattern (we have the entire collection). The seat is nicely padded and reclines for a smaller baby. I also like that the height can be adjusted and there is a removeable tray for easy cleaning. This is a good high chair and could be fantstic if the following were improved:

1) The flip-top tray is very difficult to maneuver
2) The large tray can't be adjusted so that it positions closer/further away from the baby
3) Both sets of wheels don't pivot so it's difficult to roll from one room to another.
4) The tray is a bit high, so it's hard for my baby to play with toys on the tray (she isn't tall enough to reach them)

But overall it serves its purpose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great chair for the price!, June 24, 2009
This review is from: Graco Cozy Dinette Highchair, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
We bought this chair back in mid-April, and overall this highchair is great! The entire chair is easy to clean. The chair pad seems comfortable and is easily removed to wash and dry (we use the delicate cycle for both and it comes out fine). The trays are easy to remove and clean as well. My son sits in it happily and plays with his toys while I wash dishes or cook.

The extra seat padding is removable if you have an older infant that doesn't need the extra support. We don't use the 'sling' underneath it where they say you can store things. My cat ended up trying to sit in it all of the time, so we just removed it (it just attaches to the legs) and I'm not sure if we would use it anyway. It reclines nicely to put your child in and remove them from the chair.

As far as storing the highchair, we have a big kitchen/dining room area so we always leave it out. It says it folds up for storage but I still think it would take up a lot of room folded up if you don't have the space. Then again, other than the space saving highchairs, I don't know of any that really fold up compactly. That feature doesn't bother us.

The only MINOR cons with this product are:
1. When putting the seat back up, you have to be careful that the seat is completely locked into position. One side can be locked while the other side is not. But it's easy to see and feel when it's not locked into position, and I never felt my child was in any danger.
2. When taking your child out of the seat, there are wheels on it and they don't lock. To take my child out without the highchair rolling with him, I just make sure that my foot is behind the front wheel.

Great product for the price! We are very happy with the highchair and have no regrets on the purchase!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hate it while loving it, but I need a different chair, April 16, 2011
This review is from: Graco Cozy Dinette Highchair, Broadstreet (Baby Product)
What I hate: The front wheels do not swivel. I knew that before I bought it thanks to the other reviews. What I didn't realize was just how completely awful that would be. I thought I wouldn't move it that often. I was wrong. You move a high chair way more often than you realize. (I have four kids, and I never realized it until this purchase, because I never had a high chair with wheels that didn't swivel!) Anytime you want to move it, even in the slightest, just to pull baby closer to the table, or closer to you as you spoon feed, or over closer to the kitchen counter as you work, or even just turn baby a different direction to get baby's face out of the sun, or so baby can see siblings playing, every single move will be a total nightmare. You have to DRAG it. Hard. Heavy. Scratching up my floor. The front wheels are not only useless, they prevent you from even just removing them. I wanted to just take them off altogether and cover with felt pads to save my floor. Not an option. (My floor is ceramic tile. Heaven help the high chair owner with a softer floor like hardwood or laminate)
Aside from that one thing, I love this high chair. The tray comes off, and leaves a nice "snack tray" which holds baby in with a bar between the legs. (You can use just that tiny tray for finger food eating.) That "snack tray" swings over to the side and then it's easy to get baby in and out. I love the storage basket, the seat recline, the seat pad, the toys you can buy to attach to the tray, I really do love this chair. I just HATE the wheels. If Graco made this exact chair with all four wheel that swiveled, I wouldn't be shopping for a new chair right this moment. :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up, November 9, 2010
After reading all the reviews we bought this high chair as a gift for our "pretend" grandson. Two things mentioned in the reviews are misleading -

1) yes, there is some assembly required but one lady said she sent it back because it wasn't preassembled. I guess it depends on your definition. This "assembly" took me a total of 10 minutes while I was watching TV and requires NO tools at all. It's an "insert Tab A into Slot B" kind of assembly. About 6 steps and you're done.

2) another complaint was that the food tray doesn't adjust back or forward. The bottom one doesn't move, that is true, but there is a whole other tray that sits on top of it and that does have adjustments forward and back.

I'm pleased with the overall chair, but I AM going to have to work on opening and closing the bottom tray while I watch TV to get it loosened up. It currently takes two hands! If it weren't for that I would give it 5 stars

3.0 out of 5 stars it's an ok chair, May 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
i bought this a couple weeks ago & not to sure i would by it again... i like the lkooks & it's comfortable for my daughter, but i pinched my thumb in it yesterday really bad & now i'm kinda pissed. it's very functional & does what the manufacturer says. mt isses are with they lare detachable tray.. they mechanism to attach it to the chaie is flimsy & onlt 3 positions for the tray. you have to take it completely off to take your child out..my sister has a different graco one & you can slide out the tray to the last position & take baby out with out removing the tray which is rea;;y nice. not with this one. & the small attached tray is kind of hard to get open.. takes 2 hands.. so if your babys in 1 arm, it's really difficult.. & that's why i pinched myself..trying to get the small tray open while holding my baby...then i couldnt get my finger out while holding her...so i had to set her in the chair as best i could ith 1 hand & het my finger unstuck...lame. my other problem is the recline position is VERY flimsy! when fully reclines you can just push it staight up with out using the button! so if you had more than 1 kid & they came by & pushed on the back of the chair & a small baby was in it...i could see something bad happening..
