This is a very nice baby swing. It doesn't have the enormous "footprint" that many other baby swings have. We have used the bouncer part very little, so I cannot attest to the battery life of this aspect.

Several other posters commented on the uselessness of the tray- I agree. We took the tray off (yes, it CAN be removed) before our son was even born.

I agree with another reviewer that said the toy bar is useless.

That said, this is a very nice swing that does exactly what it needs to. I've found the motor noise to be very reasonable, and the swing operates just fine, even after 6 months of use. It's nice that the seat reclines, too. Now that my son is older, we have it sitting more upright, which he enjoys.

The reasons I give this 4 stars instead of five are for the useless tray, useless toy bar, and the music is too loud (even on the lowest volume). Otherwise, it has worked perfectly and is not a terrible eyesore in our house. I would recommend this swing to others.

I registered for this swing and got it as a gift at my baby shower, in a different pattern. We don't have a lot of room so I liked that it was two pieces of baby gear in one and I have somewhere to put the bouncer when not in use. Here is what I like and don't like:
Swing:
Like that it plugs in and we don't have to burn through D batteries.
Like the variety of music/noises.
Like the choice of speeds, we haven't gone past 2 for our now 7 week old.
Like the pattern- we got the Carlisle and it is gender neutral in case we have a girl next time.

Don't like the motor noise, seems louder than it could be. It kinda sounds like a really loud clock although it is strangely rhythmic after a while.
Don't like the toy bar, it doesn't come forward enough for baby to see it without looking straight up even in the reclined position, and the toys are cheap anyway, took them off and attached my own.
Don't like that the lowest volume for the music/noises still seems a little loud but we don't use them much anyway.

Bouncer: (We use the bouncer primarily at night for our son to sleep in.)
Like the two vibration settings (have only used the lower one so far).
Like the easy lift off.

Don't like the silly tray!! It does not come off so at night when I have this by the side of the bed it sits open in case I need to grab my son. I have hit it when getting up for middle of the night feedings or if I have to use the bathroom and makes the whole bouncer shake, which has woken my son up. It is also really hard to close and sometimes pops open if he starts kicking.. he's only 7 weeks!

Don't like that we were having problems with the vibration working.

I got one of these for my first born with the thought that this would be a great 2 in 1 idea...saves space and money! HUGE NEW MOMMY MISTAKE...the swing was loud and broke almost instantly and there is nothing "fun" about the bouncy chair. Get something with lights and colorful toys instead. Plus, in order to keep the baby in the swing there is a tray across the top that isn't removeable, which ends up being a pain if you just want to use the bouncy chair. I'm pregnant with #2 now and invested in a new chair with a separate swing. So I ended up getting 3 things instead of one, and I ended up taking up MORE space and spending EXTRA money.

We get a good amount of use from the Graco Bouncer. Our 2-month-old is pretty much over the swinging feature, but a bouncer chair is a necessary tool for any busy parent. Now that we've seen other bouncer chairs that bounce without a parent's foot doing the work, we would have skipped this swinging model entirely and bought the best bouncing chair available.

The vibration feature is nice for simulating that long car ride that is sure to put the baby to sleep. Changing the single AA battery is a hassle that requires finding a safe place to put the baby that isn't in her bouncy chair, flipping the chair over, removing a large fabric panel, and then using a tool to remove the battery door. On the upside, it is highly unlikely that a small child could find the battery and eat it. Thanks Graco legal team for protecting us from ourselves!

The Soothing Vibration switch design also leaves us cursing this wretched thing on a daily basis. When we put the baby down in the chair, it is a simple matter to slide the switch to one of two vibration positions using our now free hands. However, if we pick a crying baby up out of this infernal contraption and try to turn off the vibration with our only free appendage, it is nigh impossible to center that damn switch in the off position using a toe.

This product gives us the sense that whoever designs the electrical components on Graco products has never used them under real-life conditions.

The upholstery on the bouncer is adequate, but not as nice as the Newborn Napper on the Pack 'n Play.
