Great seat for OLDER children/school age!,

The Graco TurboBooster has great reviews and was one of our top picks for safety and for the different fabric options. Booster seats with the car's seatbelt system should only be used for OLDER children. Even IF they meet the "minimum requirements" for the seat, that does not mean they should be in this seat. This seat is NOT the safest option for a 3 year old. Young toddlers and preschoolers should remain in a 5-point harness AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. With options like the Graco Nautilus you can keep your child in a 5-point harness up to age 5-6 or beyond! The TurboBooster is our 5.5 year old's favorite due to the pink fabric options and combined with it's safety ratings makes it our choice. She is very excited to move into a big kid seat so she will receive this seat as a Christmas gift and move into it when she turns 6 years old.

I bought it because it is recommended by Consumer Reports and also it is probably the narrowest booster seat out there with good test results. My child is happy with it. Oh, and the price is right too, much cheaper than Britax which I also have for my other child. Comparing between the two of them, the Britax probably has slightly better fabric, but in terms of cushioning, I find them pretty much the same.

Does the job, but not for long rides.,

We have owned this booster for about a year now for my son, who finally outgrew his five-point harness seat at age five. It's easy to install and gives him a bit of head support, but he can only sit in it for about an hour before his poor legs start hurting. He's a tall boy, so it's not that it doesn't fit him correctly. If we stick a sweater under his legs, it helps. I originally wanted to buy the Britax booster, and I regret not doing so. In fact, I may do so after all.

After reviewing Consumer Reports and other sources, the Graco High Back Booster seemed like the best choice. My granddaughter likes it. I like it. Everyone I know who has bought a booster seat in the last two years has selected this one. As a prime customer, the booster was delivered in two days.

This booster seat is ok, nothing special. I had previously bought the First Years Compass B540 Ultra Folding Adjustable Booster which is priced in the mid-80's and thought maybe I would save a few bucks. I definitely prefer the First Years Compass B540 Ultra Folding Adjustable Booster as it is more comfortable, the arms move up and down which makes buckling and unbuckling much easier (The Graco arms do not move) and in general just seems nicer (by comparison the Graco seems "cheaper"). If you are looking for a good budget seat, this is ok, but I recommend spending a few $ more if you can afford it and go with the the Compass seat.

I bought this booster seat because I car pool and needed an extra. I already own the Sunshine Kids Monterey Booster seat for my 5 1/2 year old son and it is a much sturdier car seat. It also retails for over $100 so I guess you get what you pay for. The Graco looks very similar, it just feels flimsier and does not have the latch system which I like for additional security. It's fine for a car pool seat but I like the Sunshine kids seat as my son's full time booster.

Purchased 2 of these seats for my 7 yr old son and almost 5 yr old daughter. They love them! We spend a lot of time in the car and the seats are very comfortable. Haven't had any problems with the seat belt positioner and eventhough there is no anchor belt, the seats stay in play even with no passengers. The are also very easy to put together and adjust.

I have three small children and a relatively narrow backseat. It looks like it would fit two and a half adults instead of three. I already have booster seats for the other two so I really needed a booster seat that would not make the three children uncomfortable or unsafe. The Graco Highback Turbo Booster Car Seat was the perfect solution.I did much research before I purchased this seat. It has a good safety rating and is easy to put together. What is also important is that none of my children are uncomfortable. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that it would probably be even eaier if it had a harness, instead of having to use the seatbelt for fitting. No harness means a little more effort buckling in my little guy, but it is a small inconvenience at the beginning and end of the journey that is worth my children's comfort for the journey's duration.

We've had these seats for about 2 weeks now and like them.Pros: -Easy to put together (I put two together in about 30 minutes) -Lightweight -Removable back -Seatbelt guides are helpful and the belts do NOT cut into my kids necks -Well-cushioned -Reclines almost fully (we don't have reclining seats, but I can see how this would be useful for people who do and frequently take car trips that are conducive to sleeping kids) Cons: -This seat is VERY hard to buckle in our car ('08 Honda Pilot) - we have an infant seat and two Turbos. The armrests are in the way, but cannot be removed because of safety standards and with the carseats all so close, its a HUGE nuissance and I am constantly cursing myself for buying this and I cannot wait until my kids can reach far enough and press hard enough to buckle the belt, but knowing how it is for ME to do it, I don't see that happening for another year or more. Because of this, I would never buy this seat again for MY purposes or with MY car. -When the seat is not buckled, these carseats are not secured in the car - I did not know this, maybe its a common feature of booster seats (?), but I wish there was a way to have it secured in the car using a latch system.

No complaints,
This review is from: Graco High Back TurboBooster Car Seat, Wander (Baby Product)
I have been reluctant to get a booster seat for my 2 kids since I invested in those convertible carseats that go up 100 lbs. Plus I know that 5-pt harness is safest. But then the older the kids get the more activities they do...birthday parties, sports, theater, playdates, field trips, camp, etc. Transferring those bulky car seats is painfully inconvenient. So I got this booster seat for 5-year old daughter. And all I can say is, THANK GOODNESS! This seat is light, takes seconds to transfer from one car to another, and most importantly she is so much more comfortable in this than her convertible carseat. The side headrest cradles her head when she falls asleep unlike her convertible carseat where she just sort of slumps forward. She refuses to go back to her convertible carseat and I don't blame her! This was supposed to be our extra carseat but it's become the primary one for her now. I have no complaints, I love this carseat and I can't wait to get another one as soon as my son turns 3 in a few months. |
