I bought it because it is recommended by Consumer Reports and also it is probably the narrowest booster seat out there with good test results. My child is happy with it. Oh, and the price is right too, much cheaper than Britax which I also have for my other child. Comparing between the two of them, the Britax probably has slightly better fabric, but in terms of cushioning, I find them pretty much the same.

I am an RN and a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (I work at Childrens' Hospital in OK) and want to point out that these are WONDERFUL booster seats.
However, this is NOT an appropriate seat for any child below the age of 5-6 regardless of their weight/height.

I realize on the product description that they say this item is approved for children as young as three. They need to change this immediately! Children as young as three are not physically or developmentally ready for a booster. They are likely to climb out, or unbuckle themselves, or move the shoulder strap behind their back which is very dangerous. (You will notice that all new cars that are manufactured now no longer have lap belts only as they are so unsafe)

Children that are less than 5-6 can be seriously injured if riding in any kind of booster seat. They need to be in a five point harness still. Their skeletons are too fragile for a the "three point harness" of an adult seatbelt- a five point harness spreads crash forces over a larger, stronger portions of the body (shoulders, hips, crotch- where there are strong bones) and an adult seatbelt, even when the child is in a booster, crosses their abdomen too much instead of their hips. If you were to get into a crash, many of their internal organs in their abdomen could be lacerated (cut into internally) and they could bleed to death inside in a matter of minutes.
I really hope you will consider keeping your young children, who I am sure you adore and love very much, in a five point harness. There are many on the market that have higher weight limits (All that I have listed here go up to 50, 60, 65, 70, or even 80 pounds)these days... Britax Frontier, Diono Radian, Graco MyRide, Graco Size4Me, Britax Marathon, Evenflo Maestro just to name a few.

First I checked for the safest seat. This came up as one and it was reasonably priced too. I loved that it was available in different colors but the Spitfire was my favorite - dark so any dirt from use won't show up but the green contrast. The instructions are very clear and detailed with accurate diagrams.

My daughter was happy to get carseat - she had another one but she it was stolen. She sat in it and wiggled around a bit with a smile on her face. She complained about the head 'cushions' were touching her ears. But within 10 minutes on the road she was sound asleep. Her head fell forward a bit but not as much as in the other chair. What made me give 5 Stars was what happened when I was taking her from the car: she was still sleeping, when I lift her out she cried out and said "Put me back in the seat"!! I put her back in the seat and she adjusted herself as if to continue sleeping there instead of on her bed!! (100% honest)!!!

If I had to change one thing I would make the arm handles moveable - i.e. able to move from horizontal to vertical. This feature facilitates easier entrance and exit to and from the seat.

Well, this was the maiden voyage (first ride). Will update if anything further develops.

UPDATE 08/17/13: 2 years later we are still using this car seat. She is about 50" and 60lbs, so she will outgrow maybe in a year. Still comfortable. Have it with the back upright still. Very Durable! Nothing is wrong with it and she rides it 6 of 7 days every week. Long trips and all.

I purchased this booster because of the great safety ratings and because I have always been very satisfied with Graco products. We've now had it about a month and I am really regretting our choice. I wanted a highback booster for my 6-year-old, but am tempted now to remove the back. The big problem with this booster is that the guide for the shoulder strap is not well designed. The strap is constantly getting twisted (because it can't lay flat in the guide) or coming out of the guide. Today I realized that the belt is not retracting when my son gets out of the car, because it is stuck in the guide - which means if it needed to retract in an accident, it couldn't. That is BIG concern to me.

Re. some of the other negative review: 1) Boosters aren't supposed to have a LATCH system, so that really shouldn't be a criticism of a booster and 2) boosters are not designed for 3-year-olds. By law, many states require a 5-point-harness for children under age 4.

I love Graco and am really disappointed that they let me down this time!

I bought this carseat 3 months ago and the problem I'm having is that the red seatbelt positioner where u weave the seat belt through, is causing the seat belt to lock and sometimes it tangles the seat belt when it retracts and this happens in multiple cars . I complained to graco and they told me it might be the seatbelt in my car even though I told them it has happened in my husbands car and my sister in laws car, and they sent me a new back for the seat. I mean I'm happy they responded so quickly but I don't think its the seat, I think the design of the seatbelt positioned is causing the issue.we'll see how this works out. Everything else about the seat is great though. But that little mistake causes the whole carseat to become an inconvenience because I have to buckle my 5 year old and he's reaching for something he unbuckled himself because the seatbelt is locked and that becomes a safty hazard
