Video Review of Graco Lovin Hug Open TopSwing, September 10, 2009
Length:: 4:22 Mins
After listening to several parents you learn that babies either love or hate swings. I am happy to say that our little girl "Loves" this swing! In terms of features I am not of anything that I would add - it seems to have everything that you would want!
Things we like
- 6 speed/heights for the automatic swing - the higher levels seem to be ideal for getting out baby to sleep while the lower settings help keep her asleep.
- Various sounds - nature sounds (which admittedly are not the greatest), the "heartbeat" sound, and our favorite a nice selection of classical music
- Seat has two vibration settings
- Nice little mobile for small eyes to stare at!
- The seat has multiple settings for reclining
- Nice weight rating so you can use thing for quite awhile.
- Built in timer
- Volume control for all music/sound features
Areas for improvement -
- Not the easiest thing to put together. In fact, ours still needs a bit of a brush-up to get perfect.
- Ideally, it would come with built in rechargeable batteries - granted that would add to the cost - however be prepared to go through batteries!
- Makes a bit of a clicking sound - not a big deal for us, but I am sure some people would find it annoying.
Final Verdict - I was tempted to take off a 1/2 star for assembly, but as a whole we are very satisfied!
5 Stars!

Good music and motion, bad table and mobile, January 5, 2011
My son had a love hate relationship with this swing. It depended on the month and time of day, I guess. Sometimes, it was a great way to get him to fall asleep or a quick place to secure him when I needed two hands free. It was used moderately--not $100+ worth.
I enjoyed the classical music, but the other sounds were more like white noise than their description. The adults could not tolerate them.
The mobile has nothing for a child. From the child's view is just the underside of turtles (a circle with nubs) in hard to distinguish pastel colors. In fact, my son stared at the bright warning label on the inside of the stand longer in one sitting than he ever looked at the mobile over the lifetime of the swing.
I HATED the tray. It was a useless obstacle in reaching my non-mobile infant (the harness seemed more than sufficient for safety). By the time my child was old enough to use the tray, he didn't use the swing.
Overall, the swing worked as it should and we didn't have issues with its operation. The timer was a nice feature that we rarely used. It always remained in its lowest position, despite having other more upright settings.

good swing for larger baby, September 27, 2008
I received this swing as a gift. After putting it together, I realized that the tray was entirely in the way and was totally unnecessary for my 2-week old daughter so removed the piece. I'd recommend not placing the tray onto the swing until you actually need it, otherwise it's rather difficult to place the baby in or take out of the swing. The only reason I don't give a 5-star for the product because I think it's way too big for a newborn or little baby. It does take me a few minutes to adjust everything around her and if she's already crying, it's hard to calm her in the swing. I can however see how a larger baby can enjoy the swing more, hope to see what happens when my daughter gets bigger.
