5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent; Worth the $$
I bought this to take on a beach trip. It worked great. My son (who is fair-skinned) did not burn at all even after spending the afternoon by the pool. I would recommend this to anyone taking a summer vacation and/or anyone who would like to spend a lot of time outdoors with their little one. It's easy to attach and keep clean. Very good investment! GET IT!

1.0 out of 5 stars read the warnings!!
Do not use the canopy on the pack n play if there is even the slightest hint of a breeze.. save yourself and your baby from the tears that you will shed when a slight breeze comes along and picks that whole unit up off the ground and flips over, faceplanting your child into the dirt. It didn't take much for this to happen to me. Luckily, my son did not get hurt.. but...

2.0 out of 5 stars FYI, product has some limitations/problems, June 11, 2004

This canopy came with our Pack `N Play, so we didn't have to purchase it separately. Good thing, or we would've returned it right away!

We ultimately purchased the set in hopes of using the canopy along with the bassinet feature (in order to keep our cats from jumping into it). Upon reading the manual, however, we found that the company recommends you do not use the two components together.

What's more, as my husband was installing the canopy for the first time, one of the poles easily snapped, and we had to wait several weeks for a replacement from the company. Though we had trouble getting anyone on the phone for days, we finally reached Graco via the Internet, and are glad to report that there was no charge for the replacement part, (...)P>Once the canopy was in place, we could see that the ceiling was fairly low, and though we haven't used it out of doors yet, it seems (especially with the dark-colored backing) that it could get very warm in there quickly. Consequently, they do state this in the manual as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not stay on well at all, July 11, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Canopy (Baby Product)
We bought this in hopes of keeping our 19-month-old climbing baby in her pack-n-play. After discarding the useless directions and finally managing to screw on the front brackets, we discovered that the front poles just rest in slots and the back has tiny clips. So not only does it pop off when pushed by little hands on the inside, it pops off on its own as well! It will not stay on if your kid is able to stand, reach above the edge of the p-n-p, and push. We'll be returning it tomorrow.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good sun protection, but does not keep pets out, March 2, 2005

This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Canopy (Baby Product)
Great for blocking sun and bugs. But, it doesn't keep your pets out. Our curious cat jumped from the floor to the top of the canopy and it collapsed. It's not sturdy enough to keep a 7 lbs cat out. Though, I don't think it was designed to keep pets out, so use it protect baby from sun and other elements.

4.0 out of 5 stars a great idea, July 19, 2005
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Canopy (Baby Product)
This product is clearly not designed to keep babies in a pack n play, or pets out. However, if you're looking to keep your little one shaded in the hot sun, it really can't be beat. We used it for a week at the beach with our 1 year-old old son. The brackets that attach to the front of your pack-n-play to hold the canopy in place are kind of difficult to install, but they don't interfere with the pnp folding feature, so you only have to attach them once, and then you can forget they're there. The back of the canopy is held in place by little clips that hook onto the back bar of a pnp, and they can come undone if your baby pushes at the back of the canopy, or there's a very strong breeze. However, there are velcro ties in the back (meant to hold the sun flap in a rolled up position) and we looped those through the corners of our pnp while we were at the beach, and neither our aggressive baby nor the wind from the ocean were able to dislodge it after that!

I would give the product 5 stars, except that our rod also broke. I think it's a flaw in the design, and Graco should consider using higher quality flexible rods, like those found in tents. I contacted Graco via email about the broken rod, and they sent me a new one right away. No hassles. I'm not sure how long the new rod will last, but in my mind, this product is still worth the money for occasional use. It's great to have a safe, clean spot to contain my little crawler (especially at a sandy beach!), and have the comfort of knowing he's protected from the sun and bugs!

1.0 out of 5 stars does not fit my pack-n-play, July 19, 2005

I purchased this canopy for use on my brand new graco pack-n-play and it does not fit! I was attempting to put it together when i read in the instructions that it does not fit if you have a rounded edge pack-n-play. Nowhere in the description when I purchased it was this mentioned. I had to buy it, open it, then read it in the instruction booklet- What a waste of time!!!!! I ended up purchasing the sport/outdoors pack-n-play by Graco for use outdoors and i love it! It is great for being outside. I would recommend this one instead of the canopy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Keeps the sun out but broke after one use!, June 30, 2005

This product does keep the sun out; however, the rod that holds it up broke after one use. Luckily my husband was able to buy materials and make a new one, but it was a big inconvenience.

4.0 out of 5 stars This doesn't keep our cat out., July 18, 2004
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Canopy (Baby Product)
My playpen has this canopy and I found out that it does nothing to keep the cat out. First one corner came loose so the cat jumped in, and then the cat would just jump in through the bottom of the canopy. I do love the canopy for shading my baby from the sun.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't fit right and wasn't worth it., August 14, 2005
This review is from: Graco Pack 'n Play Canopy (Baby Product)
It wasn't meant for the rounded ends of my PnP but it fit in an ugly way anyway. We used it twice maybe. It just wasn't feasible.. not as much as I thought it would be.

I would save the money and just keep the child out of the sun.
