Graco My Ride 65 LX Convertible Car Seat, in Ashbury

Convertible Car Seat

Graco’s My Ride 65 LX Convertible Car Seat helps keep your growing child safe. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)—one of the most respected resources in child safety—recommends your little one ride rear-facing up to 2 years of age. In support of the AAP recommendation, the My Ride 65 LX keeps your baby riding in the rear-facing convertible car seat from a tiny 5 lbs. all the way up to 40 lbs., and as long as baby’s head is at least 1” below the top of the car seat. Then, when your child is ready, it converts to a forward-facing toddler convertible car seat for children up to 65 lbs. and 46 inches tall, secured in a 5-point harness. It’s like having two seats in one!

Great Safety Features

The My Ride 65 LX is designed to help keep your precious growing little one safe. This seat has been engineered and crash tested to meet or exceed standards, including:

  • U.S. Compliance Standard FMVSS 213
  • Side Impact Tested for Occupant Retention by the harness system
  • New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) – peak Crash Force approximately 2x Car Seat Standard
  • Extreme Car Interior Temperatures to ensure material integrity under extreme temperature conditions

It also features EPS energy absorbing foam for effective impact energy management.

Kid-Approved Storage

Dual, integrated cup holders are just right for holding your child’s sippie cups or water bottles. The integrated cup holder and storage (for small games and toys) are added features that bigger kids really appreciate.

Easy Clean Up

Parents love how easy the My Ride 65 LX convertible car seat is to clean! When you’re ready to freshen your baby’s seat cushion, simply wash it in your washing machine with gentle detergent. All of the metal and plastic parts of the seat may be cleaned simply with mild soap and water, and the buckle can be cleaned easily with a damp cloth.

Floral Fashion

Every little princess loves flowers, so the pretty Ashbury fashion features big, abstract blooms, sure to delight your little girl. A field of pretty pink, grey and cream flowers is paired with solid pink and grey for a sweet, feminine look.

Your child will ride comfortably, thanks the two integrated cup holders and storage for your child’s favorite things.

I returned this seat. But I still give it four stars. Odd, I know. I ordered this seat based on price and good reviews. I still stand by that decision. It is a very capable seat with no negative traits. If you're looking for an affordable seat with great ratings, look no further. I, however, got snotty and wanted more features. I don't regret this decision, but if you aren't as picky as me, this seat will do you just fine.

I bought this seat without consulting my wife. Oops! It was well reviewed, cheap, and shipped free with prime. Score! I got it, installed it, life was good. Then we went to shop for seats for my wife's car. Off to BBB we went and I saw the splendid fields of seats of all varieties. Some $75, some $400. Some had features that I'd hate myself if I paid money for. Some seemed like a cheap lawn chair held into your car with rubber bands.

What I soon realized was that the most common feature of the mid to higher end seats was quick adjustment of the height of the shoulder straps. You pull a lever, bang, strap and back rest slide up and down. This seat: not so much. You literally have to reroute the straps to a different set of holes through the back of the seat. Is this a big deal? Probably not. But I, clearly, will pay for convenience. You'll probably only have to adjust these straps TWICE in the entire life of your child. Apparently that's too much for me. And as I continue this review, my shame builds.

Also, this seat doesn't have a recline feature. Another thing that I'll probably rarely use but I like having it. Again, stupid. And the great irony is that this seat has a very solid, built-in cup holder. My new stupidly expensive Boulevard does not. Annoying.

All in all, this is a GREAT value seat. If you don't mind rerouting the straps twice in three years. You are in luck. Buy this. It's great.

This is actually the second Graco My Ride 65 car seat we've purchased. We had one for my baby from 4 months old- 11 months old when we were in a car accident. A car hit us head on and then we were hit from behind by a dump truck. The car was totaled but with my baby in this seat, he came away without even a bruise or bump to show for it! I immediately decided to replace it with the same seat that protected my child so well.

Besides being so safe, I love that my child will be able to fit in it for such a long time. He loves sitting in it and it seems really comfortable for him. The straps are really easy to adjust also, which is wonderful when working about winter coats and such. It is a rather large seat and might not fit well in small vehicles, but we love ours!

My daughter bought the Graco My Ride 65LX (Asbury) for my granddaughter last month. The baby is 10 months old and 20 pounds. She installed the car seat forward facing. Now I know that it's safer to keep them rear-facing for as long as possible, but this was my daughter's choice. Anyway, they were involved in a bad accident the other day. They were driving 70 mph (the speed limit) on the highway when they were run off the road. They were in a 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback (a fairly small economy car). The seat was installed in the center of the rear seat. The car rolled over three times before coming to a stop on all four wheels. The baby didn't even have so much as a bump or bruise on her. She was fine. I love this car seat. I believe it saved her life. Even forward facing for a baby that small, she came out of it without a scratch. I highly recommend this seat. It's comfortable, she's happy in it, it holds her head up when she sleeps, and the seat has great side protection. I also think that the little head supports provided a lot of protection from the roll over by cushioning her head preventing excessive side to side movement. She now has to buy a new car seat and she will be buying the exact same one. There's no better testament to how safe your car seat is than it actually being put to the test. Thank you Graco for making a great car seat that saved my grandbaby's life.

I looove this car seat and so does my son. Before this we had more of a booster seat so that I could save bucks by not buying the stage between infant seat and boosters. But when we would go anywhere that required him to sleep (traveling during naptime or late at night) he would simply not sleep. Up until the point of exhaustion he would pass out, his head would fall forward, and he would start crying pitifully. After taking a 5 hour trip in which he didn't sleep a wink but was obviously exhausted, I decided that we couldn't do that to him anymore. This seat is comfy and has a nice recline when in the forward stage that lets him sit back and enjoy the ride. He can still see out the front window but I expect he might not be able to see out side windows well because of the sides of the seat would block his view. It does take up some space but when in the middle, smaller people could sit beside it but it would be a bit uncomfortable for them. Oh well, my kid takes precedence, lol. It's worth glancing in the mirror and seeing him sitting back, looking comfy, and enjoying the ride for a change. Plus, all the safety benefits make it all worth it.
