I have owned this gun for over three years now. I learned to spray with a accuspray 10, which is a four hundred dollar hvlp spray gun. The graco fx3000 sprays very well even when compared to higher end guns. Air consumption is acceptable and the spray pattern is easy to control. Makes for a very nice gun for daily or weekend use. I highly recommend this gun as a low price alternative, especially since replacement parts are readily available. lays down paint very smoothly. I've sprayed metallic, solid and clear with the standard tip for this gun with highly satisfactory results. Gun model number 288880 includes a 1.4 mm tip size which is ideal for light to medium viscosity fluids And I good overall spray gun setup. The fx3000 is also available in 1mm(288878) 1.3mm(288879) 1.4mm(288880)1.5mm(288881) and 1.8mm(288882) tip sizes (model number in parentheses)

I bought this gun after really making a mess on a paint job with a "discount" HVLP spray gun. I am by no means a professional painter, but I have painted many vehicles in the past 30 years. The paint that I use now is a single stage urethane.(Delfleet Essential) I read lots of reviews, and narrowed my choice between this gun and the Devilbiss Finishline 3. The Sharpe gun arrived quickly, in perfect condition. It does not come with a regulator, and you will definitely need one to maintain the 29psi setting. It makes a good, well defined fan pattern. Though I have not yet sprayed a metallic paint with it, I am confident that it will work as well as it does with a solid color. The finish on the gun is easily cleaned, and the gun itself is very well balanced and easy to use. I would definitely reccommend this gun.

This gun works very well and is great for the price. The spray quality is also really good! This is a great gun for beginners. The quality of the gun is decent I've used a Sata before so I cant say its the best engineered gun ever but it has been engineered well. This gun is also very easy to clean once you get the fluid nozzle to come off, I don't recommend using all your strength on the fluid nozzle with the supplied tool it hurts, I had to use a 19 mm socket on a 1/2 inch drive ratchet to break it free make sure you squeeze trigger while you use the ratchet and socket so you don't damage the needle...This was the only con I had with this gun. I hope this helps future buyers. As a side note the Amazon support team was great and helped me with any issue I had also the Graco-Sharpe support was very helpful in helping me solve the nozzle sticking issue without damaging the gun.

The spray gun is a good value for the money. It gives good quality results comparable to other brands that cost more.

I've been spraying pigmented conversion varnish on cabinet doors for the last few years using a cheap Campbell-Hausfeld kit I picked up at Wal-mart. It always seemed to go on with a little bit of wet orange peel effect, and I couldn't achieve a very wide pattern, but once the paint dried it was smooth as glass thanks to the good formulation of the Len-Mar paint. So I just stuck with the cheap gun.

I wanted to upgrade, so I think my sub-conscience caused me to not clean the gun after my last job. It sat for a couple of weeks, and I was like, Oh no! I've got to buy that new FX3000 now!

The first time I used the FX3000, it was similar to the time I switched from Wal-Mart shoes to a quality pair of Skechers. I was like, Oh my God! What a difference.

With a 1.4 mm nozzle set, it laid down the paint beautifully with no wet orange peel. I could get a nice, wide fan pattern that greatly sped up the process, too.

It is also aesthetically pleasing with the anodized charcoal grey and blue colors. Paint cup lid is nice, too. It's easy to pull it up and take a peak at your paint level, as opposed to having to unscrew a lid like I had to before.

This is a good entry level paint gun that shoots conversion varnish well. I'll be repainting my work truck soon and I'll give this a try. I do own an American Turbine HVLP system system that cost me $1500 many years ago, so that will be my backup if this doesn't work out. I'll update once I try it.

Update: I used this spray gun to apply the base coat on my Toyota Tundra. The base coat went on flawlessly. I also used it to spray 2k primer-surfacer and 2k epoxy primer. It sprayed those very well, too. This is a good spray gun for auto refinishing, too.

I've purchased probably 10 of these guns over the last 5 years. Not because they are faulty but because we just plain wear them out. We use this gun 8 hours a day 5 days a week. I probably run 300 gallons of paint through the gun before we have to start changing our parts. I like the look and feel of this gun. We use a Kaeser 20 HP compressor for our shop so air delivery isn't taken into the equation. We regulate the PSI to 90 and spray heavy with this gun. Most home users will use those cheap box-store type compressors and most likely can run this gun at a much lower PSI setting. This is our largest air consumer in our shop. It uses 9 CFM. You'll need to check your compressor's specs and make sure it delivers that much or more to be happy with the results.
I couldn't be happier. That's why we keep buying them.
