5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, Sturdy, and Stylish!
I picked this infant seat for a few reasons:

It is lightweight, only 7 lbs itself w/ out base,( and baby)

It has the EPS foam lining the seat between the plastic and the fabric baby sits on.

The fabrics used are easy to clean and are the colors I was looking for, Black, and Beige orange accent color. There is a velvet fabric in beige that...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great for a large baby
We purchased this seat and used it for my son until he was 6 months old. We are VERY happy with the seat in general, but advise anyone to consider buying the SnugRide 32 or 35 instead of this one. Both those seat accommodate more weight and taller children so the seat will last longer. This seat is light, which is convenient, but our son was very big (29" and 21 lbs at 6...

There is a velvet fabric in beige that is super soft!

It comes with a removable foot cover which will be great in the winter months or when going to the park in the stroller.

It also comes with removable shoulder strap covers (to lessen the irritation of the straps) and removable head support all which you can throw in the washer and clean if need be.

The canopy is a little flimsy but also removable, and it has a peep hole in the top so you can see the baby through it from the top.

The base it comes with is super easy to install took husband 5 mins, onces he read through the instructions, they make it very clear if it is installed correctly or not..
Overall I really like this car seat and I will recommend it to my friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great for a large baby, March 14, 2011

We purchased this seat and used it for my son until he was 6 months old. We are VERY happy with the seat in general, but advise anyone to consider buying the SnugRide 32 or 35 instead of this one. Both those seat accommodate more weight and taller children so the seat will last longer. This seat is light, which is convenient, but our son was very big (29" and 21 lbs at 6 months) and he has already grown out of the seat. He is now in a Britax convertible, and it would be nice to still have the infant seat. My major reasons for the 3 star rating are the accessories... The awning doesn't go up and down easily and we always had to fight it when moving the seat around. Also, the "boot" looks neat but doesn't cover the baby enough in the winter so we still needed the bunting insert. All in all this seat served it's purpose for us though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed - could be better, December 6, 2010
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat and Base- Sachi (Baby Product)
Originally I loved this car seat because it seemed lighter than others. However, my baby is now 15lbs and there is no way I can carry him around in the seat anymore.

I'm also struggling with the arm straps like another comment mentioned. I feel like they should loosen and then allow me to tighten them again. I'm almost at the furthest setting, and I'm wrestling the poor kid in there...hoping I'm not hurting the poor boy every time I have to twist and turn to get his arms in. Very frustrating for a first-time mother.

My son hated this seat at first. I think the dark color or the fabric was making him overheated. I would dress him in a thin, cotton onsie and he'd turn beat red and feel overheated until I took him out. Fine for the winter, but the end of summer was not fun. I read online that some people put ice packs under the seat to cool it down, so this must be a common issue I didn't even think about before.

Lastly, the buttons that move the handle constantly stick. Sometimes you press the button on one side and the other won't press. I have to struggle almost every time with car seat bar once it's in the base. My husband has the same issue, so it's not strength, the thing just sticks or locks up.

Hope that helps anyone else trying to decide on this seat.

3.0 out of 5 stars wish we didn't have to use a towel under the base, September 25, 2010

This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat and Base- Sachi (Baby Product)
We have the Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat and Base - Sachi. It works fine. It's a little bigger than some of my friends' Graco SnugRides but I don't know why - more about the difference later.
My biggest complaint about this seat, and maybe all seats - this is my first baby and first carseat, is that I have to roll up a towel under the base to get the angle right. Why don't they just make the base fit the backseat? It seems like all cars have an acute angle where the bottom cushion meets the back cushion. If they know this then just make a base that fits or has more adjustment options (we are at the max foot adjustment).
The first three months we just had the base in the center of the back seat of our car. The angle was never right, but I just thought it was cause my baby was new and didn't have control of her head that she kept falling forward... so we got some kiddopotamus head pillows and that helped. After she grew out of head pillows, we discovered you could get the angle right by just buckling the seat in every time without the base. A huge inconvenience especially if you have lots of errands to run with your baby.
Now I'm back to the base, and in search of the right size towel to put under her base so that her head and neck are safe. A bit of a hassle installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling the base.

I guess this graco snugride is different size/shape than other snugrides. I didn't know that it was a "32" when I purchased it. The difference I can see between this "32" and the other snugrides is at the grocery store when I put my baby's seat in the shopping cart (you know how you can usually lock the seat into the top part of the cart). The baby is practically upside down. I looked at other carseats of the same brand, Graco SnugRide, and the babies in those weren't upside down.
I think when we have our second baby I'll just get a "regular" SnugRide (not 32). The footcover is a nice idea, but a blanket works just as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Car Seat, but..., April 30, 2010
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat and Base- Sachi (Baby Product)
We used this car seat from the day we brought our son home from the hospital and it was wonderful. We always felt that he was safe and secure, comfortably strapped in, and easy to transport.

However.

Admittedly, we do not have a ton of experience with babies - this is our first, and none of our friends had babies before us. But when we were shopping for car seats we were told that 22lbs and 29" long (the limits on this particular car seat) would be at about 1 year of age. Our son is definitely a little bruiser, but he hit those restrictions at 7 and a half months. So we have been forced into buying yet another car seat only 8 months after buying the first one.

If I had it to do over again, I may have started with the convertible car seat to begin with - they have inserts that make them comfortable for newborns and work up to 50-60 pounds, depending on the brand.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fits for 5-6 months, March 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat and Base- Sachi (Baby Product)
This is ok, but in hindsight I wish I had bought a more versatile carseat. My average size 6 month old is 18 lbs. This carrier only supports up to 20 lbs. Also, it's kind of a pain to thread the harness belts. To wash the seat, you need to completely take the seat apart. Also, I am not strong enough to attach the base - my husband needs to kneel on it to pull the belt tight enough. Slightly complicated car seat, wish it would fit up to 30 lbs. On the up side - it's a very safe seat & fabrics really have kept well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Color is not what I expected, September 12, 2009
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat and Base- Sachi (Baby Product)
The car seat is fine as far as usage and construction. What I found disappointing is the color and design of this particular car seat. It looks much better online than it does in person. In person, the fabric is more of a beige color than gray.
