Great car seat in nice neutral color!,

I've been using this infant carrier for my daughter for only 7 weeks, but so far I am impressed with the car seat. First of all, I did a lot of research and was impressed by the high safety ratings this car seat earns. Although I did purchased some other high end items for my daughter, I didn't feel the need to spend $100 more on a Peg Perego or other brand in this case when this car seat has such a high reputation in safety. That being said, the infant seat is SUPER heavy. While the weight does hurt my hand and back sometimes, I am not rating this product a less for that weight because after all the fact that it is so dense and heavy probably accounts for added safety. A seat that is lightweight and easy to carry is probably not going to hold up well in a car accident. So it's a matter of my daughter's safety v. my personal convenience. I would recommend purchasing a stroller that is compatible with this car seat or a good sling baby carrier and using that method to transport baby in/out of car because it is really heavy to carry around. I personally opted to buy a non-Graco stroller and planned on using the baby sling, but truthfully at this eary stage, you are really hesistant to wake a sleeping infant so I do end up carting it around more than I would like.
Finally, I read many reviews about the snug ride and wanted it in a neutral color. I considered getting the Metropolitan and the Lotus and ultimately decided on the platinum. After some negative reviews, I was concerned about the breathability of the fabric causing the baby to sweat especially since I live in South Florida. This fabric has been fine and the baby has never been sweating even in 89 degree weather. Also, the color is nice - it's like a gray-beige and very neutral.

This carseat is fantastic. Out infant will sleep for hours in it. Very comfortable and easy to use and operate. We also have the snuglider swing and the snugrider stoller. It's the best system out there...we can transfer our little girl from the car to the stoller and to the swing with ease.

I love Graco products and this car seat was no exception. (my older son has the Graco Nautilus car seat) I decided on this model because the colors are gender neutral, and it has things like strap covers and the boot included too. I love that the boot helps keep my son from kicking blankets off! This car seat seams to have more padding than some of the other car seats that I looked at, and my son stays happy and comfy even on longer trips in the car.
The Graco SnugRide is also one of the top safety rated infant car seats on Consumer Reports which is a huge plus!

Good Car Seat for First-Time Parents,

As a first-time parent it's difficult to choose from the zillions of options for car seats. You want one that's safe, but you don't want to compromise your style. We ended up selecting this seat because of the weight, safety ratings, and color. We initially purcahsed the SafeSeat and ended up returning it because it was heavier, bigger, and wasn't as compatible with strollers/carts as the Snugride.
Our son is 3 months and so far we like the seat. Here are some pros/cons: PROS: => It's easy to get in and out of the car. => Matches the interior of our car => Lightweight => Since it's so popular, it's compatible with a lot of strollers => Works great with the Snap N Go frame -- we've used the carseat as our buggy/stroller for the first three months since we live in a colder climate and don't go for a lot of walks in the dead of winter, so it's used to-from the car and at our destination for short periods of time. CONS: => The chest buckle is difficult to hook/un-hook at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad. However, it is annoying when you can't unhook the buckle to rescue a screaming baby from the seat. => My husband wished the handle were angled, like the EvenFlo and Baby Trend seats, but it's too late now to return it, so we deal with it. => I don't understand the footmuff -- the velcro holds the fabric back, but when you unvelcro it and put it over the baby there is no velcro to attach it to on the seat so the muff just sticks up the air and doesn't provide a lot of warmth.

worst car seat ever,
This review is from: Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat, Platinum (Baby Product)
I have twins and unfortunately bought two of these before I knew any better. Everything about it is cheap. the worst part is the red 'lever' you have to push in when you want to raise the handle - on both of mine 50% of the time - always when the baby is crying - the red lever gets stuck somehow and WILL NOT push in to raise the handle bar. Spend a few extra bucks and get something that wasn't designed by a bunch of morons. This is terrible.
