The Snugride is a pretty standard car seat. The base comes with latch but I installed it with the seat belt since the safety installation I attended recommended putting the baby in the center seat and my Pontiac Vibe only has latch on the outer seats. Tango in the Tongo is a cute gender neutral pattern, which is why I got this.

I happen to have a really tall baby (26 inches at 4 months) and will have to switch to a convertible car seat sooner than later since this Snugride is only safe up to 29 inches. Also, now that my baby is 14 pounds it is getting rather inconvenient to use this as a "snap-n-go". I'm glad I got one of the basic models and didn't waste that much money since I'll be moving into the next seat sooner, I went with the Britax Roundabout 55 BTW.

This does not have that much padding, but the biggest minus fr me is that it does not have the tightening strap which allows you to get the baby in and out faster and to tighten the straps easier on the baby for safety. My friend's snugride has this so I am not sure how Amazon differentiates them. I will probably save this because I plan on having more children in the future, but am a little disappointed that I won't even be able to use it for more than 6 months with each child.

I was bit skeptical about buying this car seat,because of the reviews i read but i decided to go with it since it looked a whole lot similar to the one my older child had used.I'm glad i went with it because it suites our needs perfectly,now that we have twins.I have no complaints.

I love this car seat!! I bought this for my grandson, who lives with us, after buying another system (what a waste of money). He is a preemie and needed an easier way to get him in and out of the car without causing him stress. This is PERFECT!! The design is great, it's cushy and comfy. I dont know why its so much less money than the other Graco Snugride design fabrics, but we (and he) love it!!.....a great value and Amazon had it on our door step in perfect condition in a matter of 3 days......thanks!

Graco is our favorite brand of carseat. It is well made and easy to use.

We ordered the stroller to match. That's how much we liked the car seat. I'll be ordering another base soon.

This carseat will work just fine for our needs, but I prefer the style that has the strap at the base of the car seat to adjust the shoulder straps. With this model you have to adjust it from the back and it's a bit cumbersome- no adjusting while baby is actually in the seat. Honestly, I would have returned it if the shipping back didn't cost a third of what this car seat cost. Be sure to read the description THOUROGHLY!!! Lesson learned.

As a first-time parent I've come to terms with the fact that not all products fit every baby, and not every baby is meant to fit all products. As parents you all know that you can't wait for your child to arrive to find the perfect car seat. So if you are trying to find the "perfect" seat, you might as well buy several - 1 to bring your child home from the hospital, and then the 2nd one after he/she has arrived, and every time your child gets a growth spurt.

So with that said, this car seat works perfectly fine with my baby, even if it hasn't worked for others' babies. It's lightweight, and easy to use and install. We did have a state trooper install and inspect the installation of the car seat in one of our cars. I highly recommend it as the state trooper made some adjustments because of our bucket seats in the car - they were at a bad angle which made our infant tilt a bit too much forward in the rear-facing seat. Yes, the car seat cover is not the best material ever, but it works. If you are a parent, you know spit ups and accidents happen, so a more plastic type cover makes for easier cleaning. As for the whole sweaty baby thing, of course the poor thing will get sweaty. Even when I sit on stuff (breathable or not), I can get sweaty depending on what I'm wearing, the temperature, etc. So just be mindful of the temperature or environment.

Our infant was also on the smaller side, so we had to invest in some additional inserts to help keep his head from moving side to side. I noticed there were tons of complaints about the handle on this seat. It isn't the best, so I definitely agree with the rest of the reviews. But our instructor at our parenting class made a very good point. She said you shouldn't carry a car seat, with a baby in it, by the handle. It's bad for you because not only does it tweak your back, but you can risk injury to your arm, wrist, etc. She recommended carrying the baby by the car seat itself, like a laundry basket. Not always easy to do, but definitely worth remembering.

By the way, good luck! Picking stuff for someone who you've never met isn't the easiest thing to do!

Excellent Infant Car Seat - The only way to go - Bought for my grandchildren

Love this car seat.... unfortunately I had a C-section and am under Doctors orders to not lift ANYTHING that is heavier than the baby. It is not a good seat for a single mother unless she has someone to carry this seat.
