I also really like the fact that you can put baby's graco car seat in its place.

We bought this and although the motor noise was loud, the baby didn't seem to mind, but it didn't last very long.

The speed settings for the swing is great and the quality of the sound coming out of the speaker is awesome.

I used this chair for close to a year and once my son started nearing 20 pounds the swing struggled to keep moving under his weight (my son was in a larger percentile for height and weight so we hit the 20 pound mark at 10 months old.) Did I think this swing was worth the money... between 3 - 10 months - yes, I thought this chair was the best investment, it was a distraction when we needed one - a napping place when no other would do... and a captivating toy for a standing and very curious baby. But here's the thing - desperate to find another chair for napping, I searched the internet high and low for a chair not bound by a 25 pound weight limit (which honestly Graco was stretching the truth because at 23 pounds our chair stopped swining at all.) The only chair I could find was a $35 Fisher Price infant-to-toddler rocker - no bells and whistles (just a small activity bar and a vibrating feature) but, it turns out that infant/toddler rocker was the better investment. My son is turning 2 and still uses the Fisher Price chair. We honestly solved the problem of white noise by buying an external CD player (or IPod) and just playing music while he relaxed in the chair. So, as the Sweet Peace is taking up room in the garage... the $35 toddler rocker keeps on going!

If I had it to do over, I would have gone straight to the Fisher price chair and saved myself $120.

We bought this and although the motor noise was loud, the baby didn't seem to mind, but it didn't last very long. We used it for 1 baby and put in in storage and when the second baby needed to use it, it only lasted about 1 more week before the motor stopped turning the swing. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Verified Purchase
This product is simply adorable. That is why we purchased it. When we got it, it was very easy to assemble. I like that fact that the part where baby lays you can take out and move to a different room and it rocks. I also really like the fact that you can put baby's graco car seat in its place. It makes it nice for that second trip out to the car.

We received this swing at our baby shower, and were so excited because of all of the wonderful features (like the MP3 attachment/etc.). Well those features are useless because we can't use the swing. The first motor we had was so loud that the baby would not stay in it. It was louder than the music even with the music on the highest setting. We called Graco, and they sent us a new motor. Well today when I put the baby in it for the first time, the new motor is jumping and it stops while swinging, then tries to go again but barely putters along. Our little one is now 4 months old, by the time we get a new motor again she's going to outgrow this thing. If you do buy it, keep the box. At least then you can try to return it.

The color and design of the unit is wonderful. Very attractive.

Easy to assemble.

The sounds and other electronic whizzy bits are good so that was a major selling point.

The plug-in power option was the starting point in the search point for us. I've done the battery thing before so a wall-outlet-powered unit was a non negotiable item.

The only issue was the motor breaking after a few weeks. The baby was newborn at 7 lbs so it wasn't due to size.

We didn't return or contact the manufacturer on this for various and sundry reasons - no fault of their own though.

Hopefully the company has corrected any motor design issues after ours was purchased in Dec 2010.

I've seen an internet posting stating the company wanted to charge like $60 for a replacement motor.

I'd keep this link and info handy if you plan to get one of these

Update (12-dec-2011)
Immediately after submitting my review here, I went to Graco's web site, went to the Help page and submitted a ticket to just provide feedback... My expectations were low to be honest, as it's been over a year since the purchase of the product and I don't have the receipt and blah blah blah :)

However the next business day I received notice that a new motor is en route and should arrive shortly. Kudos to the company for customer service.

We originally had the Fisher Price Papasan, but had to return it due to it malfunctioning after 2 days. We didn't really want to spend that much on a swing chair, and this one cost more than the Papasan, but we bit the bullet and forked over the extra cash. I'm glad we did.

The good stuff:

- Assembled quickly, without tools. I didn't even read the directions (typical guy, I know...) and had it together in 5 minutes. Fairly sturdy looking construction and parts, for plastic anyway...

- Lots of functions! The music is decent quality. It has the option to put in your own MP3 player. It also has heartbeat sounds, which for some reason our girl doesn't like, but luckily she likes the music!

- I like the chair and cushion, though I think the Papasan's was more comfortable. The ability to position the chair facing 4 directions, or take it out and use it as a rocker, is a real plus.

- The seat hood is really nice to pull over the seat and shield the child from distractions or direct bright light when sleeping.

- The motor is pretty quiet and smooth. You can still hear it running though, so if you have a super-sensitive to sound child, this may be an issue.

- AC adapter. No batteries (almost)!

- Neutral design colors make it easy to use for either boy or girl.

- Low profile and modest footprint.

The only drawbacks are that the seat vibrator requires a battery; and as usual with most baby chair toys the included ones are cheap and hokey. Did not install either of them.

The best part about this chair? She's quietly sleeping in it now!
