smart portable and zoom is good,

This review is from: Graco imonitor Video 2.0 Version (Baby Product)
I didn't have any of the problems that others have reported. pic quality is a about a 7 of 10 compare to a $400 lorex unit so I don't see a negative here. range is as good as the expensive lorex that I also own at about 150 feet throughout my house of 2 stories. zoom has better pic quality than full view which is strange for digital units. design is smart and light. others might have set the timer to turn the unit of without knowing. please read the manual if you are not sure. I didn't have to refer to the manual because the unit itself is so simple to use.

A Total Waste of Money - Rated No Stars,
This review is from: Graco imonitor Video 2.0 Version (Baby Product)
I bought this monitor and find it completely useless. Firstly, the screen for viewing is very, very small. The picture quality is awful, all you see is a kind of murky outline of your baby. The scope of what the camera picks up is very small, I cannot get the whole crib in the picture no matter how hard I try. I even put the camera on the ceiling looking down and I still can't see the whole crib. Last night in the middle of the night it started buzzing and then ran out of battery power. Apparently it can't even last a typical 8 or 9 hour night. I had it hooked up to the charger all day and when I went to turn it on tonight it lasted about 10 minutes. Now, on my baby's second night alone in his room and I have nothing to monitor him. I can't imagine what they were thinking releasing this product under their name and came up with a $200 price tag. Totally irresponsible false advertising.

WORST BABY MONITOR IN HISTORY!,
By
This review is from: Graco imonitor Video 2.0 Version (Baby Product)
I have 3 kids now and have gone through maybe 5 baby video monitors. Thought I would try this Graco, since it was a digital video monitor. I have to say, the picture quality is the worst I have experienced. Even the cheapest monitor I had bought for less than $100 has better video quality.
In addition, the sound is delayed by at least 2 seconds; the built-in battery only lasts less than 1 hour, FULLY CHARGED! Now I just noticed the video is scrambling and cannot get a proper signal! I would not even pay $5 for this video monitor system and neither should you. Graco should be ashamed for selling this product.

Disappointed,
This review is from: Graco imonitor Video 2.0 Version (Baby Product)
I purchase a lot of items based off of customer reviews so I feel I should add one as well.
This was not at all what it promised... I was so excited to use this monitor when I purchased it!! I read all of the instructions and every thing it said it could do!!! And then I plugged it in and started using it... sigh I can only use this monitor from one room away! Any further and it beeps constantly and I cannot connect! I ended up having to purchase another monitor for my living room :o( The video during the day is half decent while at night you have to guess which is your baby and which is her bed.. After owning this for over a year the video is not good at all and I only use it as a regular audio monitor...which defeats the purpose of owning a video monitor. And btw you have to constantly keep it plugged in. It can't hold a charge for long at all. It is not portable. (again I can only use it from one room away, thankfully that's my bedroom.) If you are looking to purchase a video monitor, from one Mother to another, do not purchase this one. I was very disappointed to say the least. Especially given the purchase price.

Wasn't the best...,

We bought this monitor because it was digital and wouldn't interfere with other monitors in our neighborhood. We've had it for 2.5 yrs and have had to reset it maybe once a month. The picture quality isn't the best either. We used it for our toddler, who doesn't need much monitoring, and it was good enough for us but I wouldn't recommend this for a newborn. After 2.5yrs, we couldn't keep the handheld monitor charged because the connection is loose. It's pretty much useless to us now. This was our 4th monitor so it wasn't the worse but certainly wasn't the best...especially with the expensive price tag.

Basic video monitor, Could be better.,

This monitor uses the 2.4ghz range, but still has a pretty short range for the audio, and even shorter range for the video.
Video quality is reasonable, a bit washed out. The NIGHT video is not very good with range (maybe 6 feet visible range), and it has brightish RED leds that shines at the child and I can see that creeping some kids out. An IR LED for night time does NOT need to be visible to the child. Video drops out regularly with a Ding!Ding! warning which gets pretty annoying over time when you are at the range of the video, which in our house is about 45 feet (2 rooms). Audio reception is almost twice that. Even in the adjacent room, connection drops out regularly through the night which causes the 'DING DING' waking us up. The audio is reasonable, but wierd because there is a 2 second delay, Not because we care that there is a 2 second delay, but we can just hear the original cry and then the monitor echoes it which is a pretty creepy effect at night. One more annoyance is that the sound controls are not very gradiated. Even on the quietest setting it's too loud for a quiet room and every snort gets amplified. We duct taped the speaker hole and that helped. Battery time for us is about 2-3 hours with occasional video. Enough for a nap, but you'll want to leave it plugged in otherwise. The parent unit IS amazingly portable, however the drawback is that it's not built nearly as robustly as other graco products. A minor drop from our toddler's hands popped out the OLED screen cover. Another got the video all wacky. I wouldn't recommend it for retail price, Check out the SUMMER brand video products, but in a pinch it'll do if you can find it on clearance.

Dont buy this monitor! It constantly drops the picture and sound, then you have no monitor at all while it is "searching" to connect to the nursery unit. We just got ours as a gift and it already is not working at all.
When we turn in on, it just constantly says "searching" and never picks up the feed from the nursery unit. Also, even when it was picking up the picture from the nursery, it was not clear at all and it would only last a few minutes before going out again. This monitor is a total waste of money.

The best I have tried so far,
This review is from: Graco imonitor Video 2.0 Version (Baby Product)
Note: The bar is not high when it comes to video baby monitors, however from what I can see and what I have tried so far, this has worked the best for us.
Pro's: Not many interference issues. Video is decent enough to figure out what the baby is doing Range seems to be good not as clunky as some other models Con's: the unit doesn't go "completely" quite when there is no noise it looses the video once and a while battery life is so so Other notes: I had tried a 2.4ghz model before this one and there was a lot of interference with it. The video looked good, however the audio would have keep us up all night. With this unit we can sleep with it on the bed stand and have no problems hearing the baby. Overall, it is the most compact and interference free video monitor I have tried.

DO NOT BUY!,

This review is from: Graco imonitor Video 2.0 Version (Baby Product)
We bought this baby monitor and it is a huge disappointment. The video image is very fuzzy and constantly disappears while the unit appears to search for the image again. When that happens (every few seconds) you lose both the video and the sound so you have no monior at all. Also the sound is very VERY quiet so even at the highest volume setting IF the unit is working you will never wake up unless you have the parent part strapped to your ear. Don't waste your money on this one!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Graco imonitor Video 2.0 Version (Baby Product)
we tried this and 3 others. they all were terrible. Bought a summer version that finally worked.
the graco would rarely work due to whatever cause.. interference?? the range was terrible. 1 floor below = static. that had to have been 20' MAX through a floor and it wouldnt work. Plus, for some reason it would just lose signal and turn off in the middle of the night. Infrared was a joke, small area.. Garbage for something at this price range. Go with the summer, it was a little bulkier, but it has worked (aside from battery life on that 1 sucking bigtime). |
