I have been borrowing a spot blaster from my father-in-law for years. I thought it was time to buy my own. He paid $80 for his on sale. I saw this one for under $30 and determined that it was a pretty good deal. When it came in the mail, I determined that maybe I should have found a more expensive one. In this case, you get what you pay for. The bag on this one was much smaller than the one I was used to. That means filling it up much more often. Others have a bag with about 1/3 more capacity. The Velcro strap that holds the bag on this blaster didn't impress me. Other blasters come with heavy duty clamps. This bag appeared to be nothing but felt. It is important that the bags are breathable like the bag on a vacuum because air must escape through the bag material in order for the re-circulation to work properly. I don't know if this was truly material that would have allowed this vacuum re-circulation to work or not. Be aware that all bags on spot blasters get plugged up. I use my air blower to blow mine clean between bag refills. My father-in-law likes to wash the bag occasionally. The "rubber" nozzles feel more like plastic which means that you will have a harder time sealing off the area that you are blasting. I must say that after the nozzle sitting in my hot trunk of my car the rubber/plastic seemed to soften up a lot. The circular rubber nozzle that cam with this is problematic. It doesn't allow you to get close to corners or into a tight spot. This was the absolute deal breaker for me. These things are supposed to allow you to get into tight spots. That is a big part of why you buy a spot blaster. Other spot blasters come with a small rubber card that has different hole patterns on them. This allows the user to narrow the area of blasting down to a small area in a specific shape. I use this tool/feature a lot. I use spot blasters to clean up small rust spots on outside and inside auto bodies. It really is nice when working inside a door jam and you don't get mess everywhere. I also use spot blasters on larger projects such as iron railings. It requires less clean up than my regular sand blaster. Again, I never used this tool when it came so I don't know how much power in puts into the blast. Better blasters allow you to take them apart and clean or replace parts. I don't recall if this one allowed for that. It did not come with a parts list or any other manual so I assume that it didn't. I must say that I am impressed with Amazon's return policy and program. I used the Amazon shipping with postage label and found that it was $6.5 where the post office wanted $10.50 to ship the item back. No complaints here since I didn't pay shipping to get it to me and I generally save a lot of money with Amazon.

Unit works well, but the rubber nozzle adapters that allow the unit to be used in a variety of locations is a bit too stiff. They do not conform well to curves in the panels of many vehicles. It is what it is: an inexpensive, all inclusive spot blaster that will not make a huge mess when used.

The bag can hold only enough material for a small spot. It doesn't come with instructions or a warranty, says the distributor/Amazon seller. The closed cycle recycle also made me think it caught and reused the medium, it didn't. But on the good end I purchased a length of hose, stuck it in a bag of "play sand" and ran the blaster continuously.
