Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Carter and June, two Prentice-Hall executives and graduates of the class of '84, tailored this book to a wide array of concerns, both personal and professional, of new graduates starting their careers. Many of the chapters are strong, but the authors really hit their stride when introducing corporate mores, advocating personal goal-setting, and imparting career advice. However, the eighth chapter, "The Big Picture: Understanding the World of the Nineties," seems to stretch them. For example, a sentence like, "More and more people are concerned with what kind of contribution they will make in their life" would be difficult to document. Nevertheless, the authors' conversational style, their advocacy of hard work, and their unflagging optimism will certainly inspire success. Recommended where interest warrants.
