More About the Author

Bobby Hutchinson was born in a coal mining town in the Canadian Rockies, and she grew up reading and listening to her mom and dad tell outrageous stories. She wrote her first novel, Sheltering Bridges, at the age of 45, and it took her a year because she didn't know how to type, or how to write romance, either.

She learned, however, and that first book sold to Harlequin Superromance. Drunk with instant success, she immediately (well, over a period of many years) wrote and sold 50 more romances while marrying and divorcing several times.

Single now, she lives in her hometown of Sparwood, B.C. She's a foster-grandmother to two spoiled rabbits, and when she's not chasing them around the neighborhood, she writes and publishes romances, children's books and the odd (very odd) memoir.

HOW NOT TO RUN A B&B is the poignant and funny story of how she started her first B&B, with no experience whatsoever, hindered by a mass of complications in the form of eccentric neighbors, friends and guests. The book contains recipes that work, advice that is sometimes successful, and stories that weren't meant to be amusing, but seem to make readers laugh a lot.

Her latest romance is ISLAND SUNRISE, a romance set in Hawaii. The heroine, Charlie Cossini, is based on a fascinating carpenter Bobby knew in Vancouver--the first woman carpenter she'd ever met.

She's currently revising and uploading her romances to Amazon's Kindle. She has the rights back to 32, and she's writing more. (Hi, my name is Bobby, and I'm addicted to writing!) Watch for them on Kindles romance page.

Bobby loves to hear from readers, and can be found at http://www.bobbyhutchinson.com, or by email at bobbyhut@telus.net

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the last one I read from this author. ("A Lantern in the Window" was terrific!) This story was emotional and sweet, but it had a few things that knocked it down a star for me.

First, the author wrote the hero's daughter to be four years old, but gave her the speech of a two year old. Every "R" the child spoke was written as a"W" in the book's text. I.e. "Dress" would be "Dwess". "Great" would be Gweat". This continued through the entire book, sometimes with more than one 'W' word in a single sentence. I'm guessing the author meant for it to be adorable, but as a reader it just got annoying and distracting.

Second was the speed with which the heroine decided she was going to step into the hero's three kids' lives. Within an hour of meeting them, the vegetarian heroine had changed the four year old into a vegetarian, despite the hero being a cattle rancher. She sat at their dinner table and gave a speech about how much better it is to stick with veggies and grains... The family is a strapped for money, but now Dad has to go to the grocery store and buy tofu and soy milk because his little girl won't eat what he put on the table. The heroine didn't seem to get it.

Finally, the epilogue was just too neatly packaged with a big ribbon on top. Life-long family grievances with people who are described as snobby, cold, and greedy throughout the book are suddenly patched up in the matter of a few sentences. I was wishing the author had allowed the story to retain a bit of the bitter- sweetness that keeps a story realistic.

Despite all of this, I read the whole story and it was nice. Not something I would reread, but good for a rainy afternoon read.

Gave five stars and would have given more if available....this book, like Special Education by Bobby Hutchinson, have been the sweetest and cutest love stories I have read in a long time!! They will make you laugh and cry at the same time. Where did you get these ideas? They are delightful!!! Definitely will recommend these two books. Keep up the good work.

I enjoyed this book enough that I finished it in 1 sitting..well, I should say, 1 lying..I went to bed intending to read a few minutes and couldn't put it down. It is so refreshing to read a good story based on good people, with no serious crime, violence, cuss words, or smut...just good reading, enough to want to keep going till the end ! Thanks, Bobby for another good story !

I loved reading Grady's Kids: Cowboy Romance (Book 1--Western romance), all about Grady and Fiona who meet at his trial! You see Grady owns a ranch and a portion of his ranch has the railroad running thru it. The railroad has no regard for his animals and in the past has killed a baby calf and a pregnant momma cow, and is about to take out a large prized cattle but Grady rushes down the slope screaming and then shooting his gun to get the cattle to move and to get the conductor to stop the train. Fiona is the probation officer assigned to his case, and she needs to come out to his ranch and interview him and any household members! The author wrote an amazing story and the characters made the story come to life! Read this book it will make you laugh, cry, sigh, shake your head and even cum! I really enjoyed reading this series and can't wait to read book 2!

This book has so much heart and soul. A cowboy Rancher true and true who all he wants to do is keep is family safe and raise his herd on his ranch. You have a train that come thru his ranch that the conductor thinks it is fun to "take out cows". that is taking out money from the pockets and food off of the tables. This family lives basic. No phone, tv it is them, They live off the land and love. Introduce the probation officer who is a looker... This is a sweet romance that I really enjoyed. I love off of these books and highly recommend this book

Grady Hughes is an old fashion cowboy who loves his kids and his land. He lives with his father and three children 3,6,8 years old. Fiona is a parole officer for the small town in which Grady lives. Grady has a little run in with the law and they assign Fiona to him as a parole officer. She travels to his home to interview him and his father and gets stuck there during a snow storm. Grady and Fiona are attracted to one another. this is a sweet story and so are Grady's children. a good read. This is a shorter story

I loved this story. I only gave it 4 stars because I feel it could have been just as awesome without the descriptive lovemaking scenes. Otherwise this was an awesome book.
