Product Description

Graffiti Kingdom is the sequel to Magic Pengel, a popular action-adventure game that stormed Japan and developed a worldwide cult following last year. You'll play as Prince Pixel, a young hero trying to save his Canvas Kingdom. The once-peaceful land was turned into a dangerous labyrinth -- with a little help from his 'Box Dog' and a magic wand that makes anything he draws real, he'll fix everything! Players will use their imagination to battle their way through levels or creatively solve puzzles, for a totally unique adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly Imaginative Fun for All Ages August 20, 2005
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Graffiti Kingdom is an incredibly fun game for all ages, even though it's aimed at kids. You can draw your own 3D characters and use them in the game!

Yes, there's a general plot - you're a 10 yr old prince who needs to save his kingdom. You have to defeat the evil enemy by moving from area to area, killing off the minions. The enemies are generally cute and cartoony. I like the hoppy yellow spheres, for example.

The dialogue is pretty kid-level, and the sounds are also happy and fun. The graphics are nicely detailed - interesting canvas textures, nice shadows to give items a 3D feel.

Really, though, the brilliant part of this game is the creature drawing. You have access to a 3D drawing program that lets you draw any shape combination you want, color it, and animate it. You can create a sphere with horns and have it hop around, with a deep voice. You can create a squiggly worm shape, color it pink, and have it float. As you work through the game, you can even get the ability to draw ON your character - i.e. add spots, decorations, or tattoos to your creature.

The customization level is just amazing. You can choose voices for your character. Customize how it attacks, how it moves. Just about anything you can imagine and draw, you can now use that creature to move through the entire game, clearing levels and gathering power.

This pretty much means that you can make this game into any type of game you wish, from a character standpoint. You can have a hoppy pink ball go through the game, slaying enemies. You can have a giant green dinosaur. You can have a half-dog, half-cat saving the kingdom. Only your imagination limits your choices.

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly underrated game May 23, 2014

Anyone who still has a working Playstation 2 system should at least try this game. Whether you can or can't draw, there is something amazing about making something, seeing it come to life, and being able to control the ways in which it can attack and move. Unlike the turn-based predecessor, The Magic Pengel, Graffiti Kingdom forgoes the turn-based rock-paper-scissors method of beating enemies, in favor of real-time overworld combat. While there are still improvements that could be made to the aspect of designing creatures, you can find many insanely impressive examples of the amazing creatures people can make on Youtube. I have seen Pokemon, Miku Hatsune, various anime characters, video game robots, and even Gundams and Transformers made by people in this game.

The story of the game isn't particularly grand, and most of the game in left up to you leveling, and finding new attacks to add to your growing arsenal. But you will easily find yourself spending hours creating, coloring, and adapting your creatures, and getting better at it all the time. In short, if you can afford it, and if you still have a PS2, this game is definitely worth getting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hooray for the twisty legged space chicken!! April 16, 2013

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game has cheap VA.(I could bet my life that it's the same person talking to themselves over and over again, extremely unlikable Characters. (Prince Pixel doesn't seem to care about anything, even saving the world or his parents Who are just as apathetic if not more. Can't really blame the kid after seeing them) a plot that a two year old could've created and worlds that look like a giant rainbow barfed all over them while it was playing Super-Mario brothers but MAN IS IT FUN!!! You get to create your own characters! FROM SCRATCH Shapes, colors, functions, voices and all. It's hours of endless fun and simple to use with easily accessible tutorials.(I got this for about eleven bucks without the case or instructions) Just be prepared for the backlash should anyone ever see what you create. I'm certain the vast majority of the players aren't Picasso but when people see you making characters for this game they can be brutally honest. So far I've created a twisty legged space chicken with a spinning afro, captured and changed one of the games creations into a creepy looking mime with a dangerous right hook and an alligator with a pair of maces for hands. It was just as I was finishing my latest manifestation of awesomeness that my younger sibling walked in and I got" Ew what's wrong with it" in about a thousand different words. Amazon is charging way too much for it but for eleven bucks this was and is a great game. Plotwise it's just a drawing named "The Devil" whom our apathetic protagonist is responsible for bringing back into existence after God sealed it away. Not much to go on storywise but I recommend it.
