From the Manufacturer

Graham and Brown was started by two dear friends, Harold Graham and Henry Brown in 1946. With the severe shortage of paper following the War, Henry and Harold cleverly procured a large supply of surplus metallic paper, an eight-color surface printer and a new embossing machine, with which the two men began a wallpaper revolution. The public, desperate for things to help brighten up their homes following the hard years of war, snapped it up so fast Graham and Brown could barely meet demand. At the heart of Graham and Brown lies a solid respect for its employees, customers and environment, which owes much to Henry Brown’s personal approach to business. Henry ensured his workers were well looked after in times of trouble or illness. Over time, new ideas in wallpaper were introduced like washable vinyl wallcoverings, the now famous Superfresco brand of wallpaper which could be painted or washed, pre-pasted products, ‘batchless’ wallcoverings and ‘paste the wall’ technology. New associations were forged with designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen who was quickly followed by Linda Barker, hemingwaydesign, Julien MacDonald, Jans des Bouvrie and most recently Marcel Wanders. Today, Graham and Brown operates internationally with divisions in Great Britian, the United States, France, Holland, Russia, Canada, China, and Germany. Innovation of thought and action has seen the company drive the industry from the doldrums into growth, but when you’ve been around this long, you always take the long term view.

My walls now look amazing.

That is when the bad words start, as you attempt to pull it apart the paper backing comes off (more bad words!)

I think the product was pretty good overall, except the amount of paper you lose lining the paper up.

We used the wallpaper for walls that were less than stellar. The paper went up easily and painting was a breeze. My walls now look amazing. I receive so many positive comments about the paper. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs to hide unsightly walls.

This added the right amount of kick to my, otherwise, boring guest bedroom. I have not seen a really cool product like this before.

Okay, so basically I've got some issues with this paper, but probably more so with my installation and things that were beyond my control or understanding.

My first attempt with this paper was on one of my living room walls. Firstly, if you're going to put this directly on the wall instead of on the paper, make sure you use extra paste. After a couple hours of getting the paper up, I noticed several small to medium sized air bubbles. Thank goodness, when the paper dried these were all gone. When I painted the paper, I got a bunch of bubbles again, but again, when the paper dried they were gone.

So all that sounds great, right? So a couple days later I order some more paper and go to work on one of the bedroom walls. Same thing, same technique, plenty of paste on the walls, same small to medium bubbles -- leave for several hours to dry and when I come back the bubbles are still there! After an hour of trying to cut a small line in the bubbles, inject some glue in there and roll out the bubbles, I finally gave up. I ripped it all down. Which by the way was done with some hot water and laundry detergent, which i soaked over the walls with a towel and then pulled off.

So what went wrong? -- ultimately I came to two possible conclusions -- either the new paper i got was a different batch, probably the least likely -- the second was that in the living room, I don't have air conditioning and it was a warm day. I think the warm air probably helped the paper shrink to size once it cooled in the evening -- there my be some science to this i can't explain. in the bedroom i was running the air conditioner pretty cold and i think that the paper didn't retract or shrink under those conditions. that's the best i got.

Didn't try painting on it, but it looks good in its original color. The only thing is that for some reason the edge becomes yellow after being glued to the wall.
